That remind me of an online gag about a certain cliff in an anime called MaxLax, where multiple characters had fallen to their apparent deaths. The gag being that literally no one died from the fall. The cliff has a magical 100% survival rate.
At 1:29 I already knew it was Heihachi. The body scars gave it away. My main since 1998 is back and I'm so damn happy. Based Koe knows that 1. Fighting game stories don't matter and 2. Heihachi is indeed the best Mishima.
Just like the G-cells activated with Reina activated through Kazuya death blow . Same with Heihachi since he probably experimented on himself prior to fighting Kazuya. It must have activated when he dropped in volcano. In the non-canon movie and Tekken Tag 2 he was experimenting. They just made it officially canon now.
To be fair, it’s a fighting game. The function of a character supersedes the story. The story will have to bend over backwards to accommodate, but whatever. In Tekken specifically, it works. The entire franchise feels like a wrestling match where the announcer is screaming, “HERE COMES HEIHACHI BACK FROM THE DEAD FOR THE THIRD TIME IN A ROW! AND WHAT’S THAT IN HIS HANDS! IT’S A STEEL CHAIR!” I love it.
I'm glad, because i need something other than devils to be the powerful thing in Tekken, they finally "killed" the devils and then revealed a devil, it's all devils all the time.
Honestly, for as cool as the devils are, they're kind of just overused, so a return to old would be awesome in my opinion, or just not using the whole devil plot device as much, cause while it would be cool for it to be entirely gone, it would be kinda stupid to just get rid of such a large piece of the plot and past within the story of Tekken.
@@Paradox_Alucard Heihachi's strength is still a total mystery after all this time which is cool, i guess he has a recessive devil gene which is fine but i prefer if he's just strong because he is. I do hope Angel comes back as dlc, i know we had Angel Jin in the story but i dunno, sticking dumb armour on him was fine for the moment but i'd like the actual Angel to come back.
Tekken died for me when they decided to bring Heihachi back. I've been a fan since tekken 3 and has been invested in the story since Tekken 5. I've cared and loved the story of Tekken 7 and the end of Heihachi was beautiful as it was meaningful. I was a fool to have liked the story. Goodbye Tekken.
@@rainbowprism6242 Yeah, tekken 1 was too hard for me when I was a year old, same for tekken 2 when I was 2. I did play them retro actively, but my real first tekken was tekken 3.
Okay, hear me out: I think Heihachi's still dead. I think the scenes featuring him in this reveal will end up being flashbacks of him training the monks before he died in T7, and any times you end up fighting him in the story expansion will be you fighting a hallucination of him instead. There's a couple scenes in the trailer where characters get surrounded by some weird black mist, which could work like Scarecrow gas and cause people to *think* they're fighting him. There's even a split second at 1:49 where a second Heihachi pops up around Lidia. My guess is, the whole "Heihachi Mishima is dead" compilation at the end is there to drive home that he's not actually back, but having him show up this way in the story is Bamco's excuse to put him on the roster, the same way Kazumi was playable in T7, despite only showing up in flashbacks.
I kinda like this theory because as much as this reveal is hype and that I like Heihachi, I felt like T7’s story was a great way to end his character and him just coming back does sour it a little. I absolutely wanted him back for T8 but have him be a non-cannon DLC for the sake of legacy.
@@Xirvet I was worried about that, too. I love Heihachi, but I didn't wanna see him back if it meant undercutting the weight of that last fight with Kazuya in 7. This way, he gets to stick around without disrupting the canon and Harada's *technically* not a liar lol
@@Sly-yb2nb Exactly, I don’t want him gone cause I prefer when fighting games don’t make cuts and Heihachi is a big part of Tekken’s legacy, hell he kinda was the protag of Tekken 2 but as flawed as Tekken 7’s story was, I appreciate what it did for him and his death is the closure on that book. Hell, the Solitude/Aloneness theme has, in my opinion, much more impact with the knowledge of him dead (alternatively I like to think of the Smash remix version as the alternate universe version where he won as it feels triumphant).
you know im hyped about this but i was expecting him to be a bit more messed up looking. man survived a volcano and he ended up looking much younger. could've been scarred, or full of burnt skin. instead he got a very mild 1st degree burn on his chest after bathing in lava lol.
@@rainbowprism6242 Either that, or some sort of shenanigans with the lava making him look younger, or he just found some sort of fountain of youth bull crap, cause if devils and angels exist, than a fountain of youth existing would make some sense.
Heihachi doesn't survive the encounter in T7. Judging by the trailer, Reina tries to "resurrect" Heihachi via some ritual (hence King of Iron Resurrection). Heihachi also appears younger than his T7 counterpart indicating he has revived but more youthful (much blacker hair than his greys). Seems he was actually brought back to life!
Would be really funny if Heihachi actually has the devil gene and he just doesn't know it. And the reason Kazumi has the devil gene is because Heihachi pumped her with his DNA when trying for Kazuya. Like COME ON how else can this beast of a god survive all that?
