- Episode 50 of Digimon Adventure 2020 introduced some long awaited Digimon like Goddramon and HolyDramon but also Millenniumon and ZeedMillenniumon. This was the end of a chapter and soon the story will introduce new hardships and storylines.

I like Ophanimon, but I've always like Holydramon more since I was a kid.
The scene of Patamon and Tailmon evolving to Seraphimon and Holydramon in the Digimon Movie is so beautiful and badass.
0:31 That shot of Holydramon spinning around Seraphimon, you know shits going down (but if I remember correctly, they evolve just to make the Golden Digimentals for V-Mon and Terriermon, which is kind of a shame).
Still, that image of them together always sticks on my mind of how awesome it looks.
This episode will finally shut up all those people who kept saying Goldramon wasn't Patamon's mega evolution. I remember getting hate for saying this on forums years ago despite it being super obvious so it was quite satisfactory to see the finally see the evolution. Better late than never 👍🏼

🥳... I have the original adventure 1st released(by parts) magazine that states Goddramon & Holydramon from Patamon & Gatomon.
I always thought Patamon and Salamon had both an Angel and Dragon Ultimate/Mega form.

I honestly like both seraphimon, ophinimon, goddramon, and holydramon for patamon and tailmon’s mega/ ultimate evolutions
Honestly I like ALL 4 megas...I just never liked how seraphimon was paired with holydramon...which was my personal reason I wanted ophanimon...for the finalized angelic motic duo with them, I Also never realized how old godramon really was, holydramon and goddramon makes an epic duo just like the two greater angels make and honestly this made me happy for those 2 megas, they are powerhouses, their break glass in case of emergency forms basically. The Angelic DUO are their last incarnations for thes two digimon is they are mostly apart of the divine trio(forgot the name of the group serphimon, ophanimon and cerebuimon are apart of)

I think Patamon Dragon mega fits more with a spin off for Pegasusmon then Angelmon.

They defeated Milleniamon way too easy, and way too quickly. I was expecting at least a 2 episode battle run.
i know right. They build up Milleniummon (and ZeedMillieniummon) for so many episodes, only to be defeated in 1 episode.

Digimon 2020 is always both way too long and way too short. A mess.
My theory is they were going for a fisheye camera distortion look, and thats why the bodies look so disproportional. I think it was to make the scale look grander, but came off wonky.
I really like goldramon for patamon. Mainly because i always saw light and hope as a pair, with the chosen kids being younger and siblings, with them being on two digidestined teams, both having armor evolutions, having angelic evolutions, etc. So it was always weird for me that for their megas they had different design directions, one being a holy dragon while the other being an arch angel.
i honesty still don't get HolyDramon hate outside of Takeru and Hikari shippers.
Holydramon is my favorite dragon digimon but dear LORD they messed her up in this episode!
@@usdutchkitty Don't think that way at all Holydramon looked more powerful than she ever has. I'm no lover of Holydramon but even I can admit she looked strong.
@@Shazasterforever1 Again, I am looking at how she was drawn and animated. To me her "looking" strong, okay fan artists can do that but to show her in motion is another. She had her attacks, sure, but the constant panning over an still image of her or Goddramon is not "showing off". It was being lazy for whatever reason. Budget? I don't know.
@@usdutchkitty She is drawn larger than she ever has in this episode. if you got issues with her drawing in terms of her having a smaller head with bigger body in some cases than its to show how large she is. Its following the correct physics.
@@Shazasterforever1 Yeah, I know how propositions work, even on a bigger scale but doesn't excuse the half-assness of the quality.
Their sized became gigantic like that caused of from digi-destines crests.... Oversized & their details(pixel definition) also becames bigger & Yeah based from the 1st released cards since the Original Adventure, Goddramon was the first option of Patamon Mega's along with Holydramon Gatomon original Mega & it also appear in their Official magazines..... But for certain reason they changed it to Seraphimon... You know if both dragon comes from angelic-being the story kinda less interesting!!!
I really like both mega forms for patamon. One more as his beast side & the other for his holy side.
Patamon is my favorite and tbh I'm glad he has more forms I was always jealous of all the other digimon having more alternate forms but he only had one 🙄 one that never really makes an appearance even in the last digimon tri I felt so cheated.
Goddramon is breathe of fresh air. Tho the animation was off-putting like literally the difference between war greymons animation and the holy dragons animation was unbelievable.
Also there was no need for war grey Mon to take even more shine (tho the unique way in which Gaia force was exploited was interesting) but the truth is it doesn't need to be the tai show all the time major bosses can be beaten by others like in the first digimon.

ZeedMilenniumon may make a return. He has two versions of himself. The one with the digicode chain wrapped around him and one where the digicode chain is broken. The chains supposedly repressed it's abilities, and the only time we seen it without it's chains was in the Xros War manga where Shoutmon X7 Superior Mode (Shoutmon X7 fused with all of the Digimon in the Digital World) defeated it. Though that ZeedMileniumon may be a weaker version since it's was the result of an Ultimate Chaosmon, SkullKnightmon, Axemon, Laylamon, Blastmon, multiple Megidramons, and multiple Mega form Argomons and Xros Wars sorta threw Digimon levels out of wack since an Omegashoutmon and Zeekgreymon could defeat Milenniumon easily but in Adventure, it took two holy dragons to defeat it.
Who knows, we may see a new form or something ridiculous like a fusion between Milenniumon and Armegeddemon. Or maybe a new villain in the form of Diaboramon. After Palmon's new evolution and Blitzgreymon's appearance, anything could happen in this show.
XRos Wars is one of the most bullshit digimon series ever.
I agree with all of this. But the weakness of new forms is usually due to them not being experienced in these forms. And that might explain why Godramon and holydramons weakness.
It was an amazing episode despite bad animation until all the light of the digital world gather around Taichi out of nowhere when we have two dragon megas.

@@DigimonCentral you are correct from a certain point of view. The cameo was his first appearance, but the episode you mentioned was his first full appearance. It's like Daemon in Digimon Adventure 02. He didn't appear in his final form, just the cloaked form.

Holy digimon is one of the most powerful digimon but in anime, they always made too look weak. This episode definitely showed their true capabilities.
Good animation is only for WarGreymon, because Taichi and WarGreymon are the only DigiDestined.

Gotta call you for a small slip. This is NOT the first appearance of Millenniumon in the shows. Millenniumon can be first seen in a flashback Ken has in Adventure 02 where we see how he was infected by the dark spores.
I know but i that was a flashback. What i meant is as an enemy in real-time thats why i added people have been waiting for that.

great episode but the animation for both holy dragon digimon and the fighting animation are horrible. It looks so cheap and not well done compare to some previous episode.
Are people not able to visualize depth? If you stop on a frame and ask yourself, "is that part of the body going _away from the camera_ ?" if yes then it is what is called _foreshortening_ this is why things appear smaller the further away they are or larger the closer they are.

For me I've hated Holydramon cause they never showed it off well, it just sorta shows up flys around and then it's gone and I'm supposed to like it or take it as Salamons ultimate form?
Now I'm not blind and know that Seraphimon and Ophanimon have had the same thing done to them in the past, but they at least make an impact holydramon sometimes felt like a last minute choice.
But this episode made me like it, while the anime was ether stiff or wonky at least they looked cool with their attacks.
I used a Goddramon once in a game and thought he was cool, but of course the anime made him really cool with his punch attacks and the like.
Millenniumon looked so intemadating with how huge he was.
And then they made him bigger as Zeed.
Do I wish he last longer?
Yes absolutly yes, but at the same time they run the risk of it feeling padded like a old dragonball Z or yugioh episode where instead of focusing on the action we focus of other characters talking and giving commentary on what's happening.
animation in this episode had made people in the scene come forward and praise it. it was directed by one of the best directors in today's animation. this is a first that i hear someone say it was bad. and also, what you're mentioning isn't animation. it's artstyle. everybody in animation scene and review scene has bene praising this episode for its outstanding animation & direction. and if animation is your profession, you'd clearly see why

If we talk about art style it was not too bad either. The small heads with bigger bodies show how big the Digimon are. I think that is what they were going for to begin with.

Goddramon is really cool. Seraphimon is impressive and all, but after Frontier, I'm glad they went this route instead of using the humanoid form again. Honestly, we have a lot of humanoid megas across all the series.
But the Animation was a bit... ^^; The panning shots were one of the things that turned me off wanting to watching 2020 for a long while XD Feels like a Narrated Art Series rather than an anime at times.
The episode was good but felt empty since they botched the story so much...just like Devimon the big bad just felt empty and then ZeedMilleniummon appears and just gets dispatched in 5 minutes. The big great evil just done in like that...Very dissapointing.
This series has/had so kuch potential but feels like they just wrote a giant outline of the story and are now writing it week to week.
Godramon definitely the only form of patamon i liked

The problem is that it doesn’t fit the theme for either of the dragons, the fact that we go from human to beasts.....it’s inconsistent, but HC is that the dragons are branches of their evolution
I dont see the inconsistent, digimon can digivole into any shape or form, so seeing a humanoid form go to a beast is honestly normal to me at least

I have to assume you do not know much about animation in general. The animation in this episode was some of the best I've seen in any digimon series.
I have to assume you have only watched the reboot, because if this is the best animation in the Digimon SERIES for you - you need to get your eyes checked.
@@nad0b0lS i watched all of digimon series and movies and this is easily some of the best, most impactful (meaning impact & scale) animation this series has ever seen. i've been in sakuga scene for years and you don't know what you're talking about young man. some of the best toei's animators were working on this episode and everyone in sakuga board's (which means professional and amateur animators) been losing their mind over this episode. also people, learn the difference between artstyle and animation

I like how they drew the Digimon, I don’t like what they look like when there is movement, or should I say - lack of movement. Like Digimon Central said, they pan the camera over a static drawing too much, and even when they use frames, they use very few of them and the scene looks laggy.
I don’t care who did it, I don’t like how it looks and I have the right to an opinion. J.K. Rowling made Harry Potter, but she also made Fantastic Beasts, which is sh*t. Do I have to love FB because she made it? No, I don’t.

Toei is cheap af for EVERYTHING. Sailor Moon Crystal was some of the worst they've ever put out, and that's a globally popular series.

I feel like in a different urivers holdragmon and goddramon would be the ulta level of the tailmon and phatamon lines going from holly angle digimon to holy Dragon digimon sounds awesome but that just me i have Notting agents holydragmon and goddramon i think they are cool i just like ophanimon and seraphimon a little bit more

Same here bud. Seeing Angels evolve into Holy dragons seems inconsistent. With that said I still like these two Digimon they looked huge megazord like.
Yeah when I saw Wargreymon using the Freaking Genki Dama (Goku's ultimate move) I was like Really?.... on top of that why would the two holi Digimon giving their power instead of using it ?
This was not a good episode imo. It felt very rushed and I'm worried to see how they will end it because Xeed Millenniumon is one of if not the most powerful digimon in the series yet he got defeated by a spiritbomb 🤦🏿♂️

They were perfect. Proportions don't need to make sense during action, for impact. BTW Goddramon and Holydramon are so OP because they both evolved with the power of all crests, unlike Ophanimon and Seraphimon, who evolve using just their own crests.
In my opinion, animation was very bad as I showed in a few examples. It’s not that proportions were bad only during attacks. As you can see in my video, Holydramon has a tiny head even just floating there.
I agree with you about the crests but I still feel if they possessed less power it would've been lame, because every version of them is supposed to be powerful.
I think you can love something and still see its flaws.

I was mind-blown by it. Also, what you're talking about is artstyle. Not animation. I mean for god's sake. Director from One Piece Stampede animated it. One of the best animators of today. It can only be amazing. And rightfully have people in animation scene go crazy over this episode.

@@DigimonCentral In no way can I see this animation as bad, no matter how hard I try. And I'm someone who's very critical when it comes to animation and has been following it for more than a decade. I've criticized famous animators before.
Animation was on point and as for the artstyle it was intentionally made that way to show how big these Digimon are.
Man... I was excited to see Goddramon but the underwhelming animation was a huge letdown. If only we get the quality fight animation like those in Kimetsu no Yaiba etc...
IMO episode 50 was crap cause taichi had to steal their spotlight (again).

tbh it was for me one of the worst episodes. because (Zeed) milleniumon was for 20 years one of the strongest digimon in the entire franchise and got beaten in ONE episode, zeed didn't even had 1 minute of screentime. It was just disrespectful. Also the Genkidama/Spirit Bomb Hack and the "power of friendship" bullshit from fairy tail was just one big pile of shit...
Power of friendship is real. You shall believe in the magic of Fairy Tail.
So friendship power should be weak? I don't see where that is stablished, haven't heard of any rule which dictates that what doesn't look nor have a badass concept can't be strong. It is about fighting evil and friendship is opposite to evil, so I can see the logic of a power fueled by friendship hurting something that represents the contrary. Yes, against ZeedMillenniummon it would take the powers of all crests combined into Omegamon Merciful Mode, but instead we got three ultimates which made for the lack of raw strength by borrowing the energy of the 8 crests, energy from thousands (if not millions) of digimon from all of the entire Digital World (both encountered by the Chosen and those who heard of them and know about their cause) and energy from a whole "planet" portion of data from the Digital World itself! Now, is that still enough to erase ZeedMillenniummon for good? Sure, it's still not enough, the writers dropped the ball there. But the point is that friendship is anything but meaningless, specially in this kind of anime. Now I'm sorry for the long paragraph and my opposing tone, but there was no offence intended, just that I disagree with the idea that friendship is weak.
@@Primevaln1 what i mean is "fairy tail friendship" bullshit because in that show friendship is basically the asspull for everything. the execution was the problem, not the concept. they still had 16 episodes left to build up the victory over milleniumon and not pushing everything through in one episode
3:07 That cracked me up! Why is no one talking about this? They made these beautiful Digimon look so silly in 90% of the shots, and everyone keeps saying they loved it!
They didn't
That shot is following normal physics. From that angle a big Digimon will obviously have a smaller looking head if its being shown from the lower portion of the body. They tried hard to give us a big megazord type of feel. They succeeded in doing that by showing us shots like that. That complaint is nothing more than nitpicky.

@@AsecasJavi No it’s not, it’s clearly from the side. Also compare Goddramon at 3:29 (from above) with 3:37 (from below). It looks good at 3:37, it has a hilariously small head at 3:29. I understand they wanted to emphasize the body and muscles in some scenes, but the end result just looks bad.
