What happened to Principalities? The video just completely skipped that section, even if there isn't a confirmed Digimon in that category shouldn't its likely function be mentioned as well as that there isn't a confirmed Digimon to have that role? Also there were several angel digimon that were completely ignored like LovelyAngemon: Ultimate (Stage 6) & potential next form for Angewomon. LovelyAngemon is likely at least ArchAngel in Status, although could it belong higher?

Angewomon's Holy Arrow will always be my favorite move, it's so simple yet powerful, it fits thematically and that little winged bow on her glove just makes it that much more perfect.

Believe it or not, (in the Subbed version) Angewomon asks (again !) Mega/Altur Kabuterimon to move. The fight was personal, in both translations-but more so in the Japanese-language version.

Lol, though I have always been fascinated by both of them as they both seemed extraordinarily impressive n to this day I'm just awestruck by the way they both evolve with Tailmon turning into the woman and Angemon evolving into Holyangemon. I was always very curious about their faces. Everything related to both of them is just wonderful. No doubt they both are my most favourite digimons including their next stages.

Well he does have a virus and virtue form, so this video was talking about the virtue form, but it's virus form seems to be shown more in the series that I remember since it was in the first Digimon movie and in Frontier.
That's according the anime, the vicious form is complete different digimon and has nothing to do with corruption, it's just an alternative path
And Cherubimon's virus form first was seen in the Hurricane Touchdown section of the movie, after Willis' Cocomon was attacked by the same virus as diaboromon

It's amazing how much details and lore went into the holy digimon yet almost nothing on evil ones (with some of the strongest ended up being originally angels no less).

@@nedrostram2360 It's not just the hierarchy system. The Virus/evil digimon, in general, have little backstory/lore to them. Most are corrupted digimon rather than naturally born and thus boring.

@@nedrostram2360 I think you may be overestimating how much lore I'm thinking of. While I would love something I can spend hours reading, I don't expect anything than maybe a few paragraphs, at most. Just something that separates them beyond their designs. The angels, Olympos XII and RKs do that, imo. The Demon Lords are basically the only evil digimon that do. Even the Dark Masters are kinda weak.
You're kinda agreeing? The lack of backstory for villain groups is glaring compared to the "good guys".
You ask why promote one digimon over another and well: why not? Beelzebumon wasn't popular until Tamers made him so. Angewomon wasn't popular until Adventure made her so. The digimon that are popular are popular _because_ of the anime and manga (and the games? I don't play them). So the solution is, just use them well. I don't think the problem with digimon is a problem of fans not wanting, but rather the anime sucking and not doing justice to different digimon. Look at Frontier. Interesting lore, shitty execution, thus forgettable digimon despite the villains' personalities.
It's sorta laziness. Craft a good story for a new digimon? Nah, reuse Agumon for the nth time.
Mostly I just want more good, smart, strong villains. I'd even be okay with a plot going SMT style, lol.
This was interesting especially since there's a rumor that in the new Digimon Adventure anime the lore of the Angel type will play a role. Also didn't know that Holyangemon/Magnaangemon had a second form.
what u mean holyangemon has second form? yes every digimon can evolve in different way.. like patamon can digivolve to angemon/pegasusmon.. but it only have one true form in every level (perfect/armor digivolve/ultimate)
@ThiefRikku0306 The Netherlands my friend. We only got the first two seasons of Digimon and not the rest. We never got any form of Digimon manga either. We didnt get most of the merchandise of the first two seasons either. : / I have watched all the seasons of Digimon later on however when I was old enough to have a place and computer with internet of my own. I have read one of the manga's to I believe it was "Digimon Next" online to. But in the end I like to read my manga in physical form cuz my eye sight isnt the best so reading text on screen for to long makes my eyes go fuzzy and unable to read smaller texts on screen. However as far as I know the V-tamer manga doesn't have a printed English or German release that is still available. @Inagaki Irichiro And with second form I meant his Priest Mode mentioned in the video. So can we stop pretending I don't know anything about Digimon? I can at least tell you more then the average Dutch person about it. >.
@@inagakiirichiro8882 I think he meant he is surprised Holyangemon has a priest mode. Similar to how Imperialdramon as a Dragon Mode, Fighter Mode, and Paladin Mode. I dont think he meant "second form" as in a split evolution.

Angemon was a bad ass... Remember when he fought every boss in the first season and gave them hell even that he was weaker
Every dark boss* lol light beats dark. I was under the impression that Angemon against dark/evil digimon has power like that of an Ultimate level but a champion level towards other digimon.
Yeah Angemon, despite being only champion level, actually seemed to have ultimate level feets (defeating Devimon when all the other champion level digimon combined had failed and holding his own against Myotismon twice, going even with him the first time, and actually overpowering him the second time). Similarily MagnaAngemon, despite being ultimate level, had mega level feets. Primarily being able to overpower Piedmon and Black WarGreymon, with the case of Piedmon having already overpowered a combined effort from WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon.

@@onetallpheeesh that is not confirmed + Angemon / Mega Angemon are more likely just stronger than other Champions and since they're the direct descendant of the seraphimon who can easily defeat other Megas it would make sense that is Eeveelution before him were also very strong
I think it has to do with their natures. The line purifies evil. It parallels the fall of angels in Christianity. The devil counterparts are stronger, they gained power faster, but against the angels, they are weaker. Against dark digimon the angels gain power. An Angelmon can punch above his level. A Seraphimon can defeat his counterpart, Daemon. So can Ophanimon vs Lilithmon.
Carubinimon X form: gives digimon hugs.

The Angel Digimon are my favorite! Really wish they didn't disrespect Seraphimon so badly. HolyAngemon/MagnaAngemon was the peak of it being OP, I guess. It was such an iconic Digimon. But then Tri said,"Sike!" And Frontier makes sense, since he was just awakened from a long slumber from a terrible injury. I wonder though if Dukemon Crimson Mode and Omegamon Angel Mode count.
Dukemon Crimson Mode and Omegamon Merciful Mode, although Holy types, do not count as angels, I don't think. They are Holy KNIGHT types, which is actually a higher power than the angel types are.

Correction: dukemon/gallantmon and omnimon/omegamon are not holy knights. These two are royal knights. Alongside other 11 members (13 in total), the even higher order digimons on top of digimon angels/holy knights.
Just now I realized that ophanimon's shoulder plates are actually wheels. If you don't know why that's awesome, search for the biblical description of the ophanim.
Also Cherubimon is the only of the three great angels to be of beast and not human form. The Bible describes cherubins as having 4 faces of which 1 is an ox, 1 is a lion, and 1 is an eagle.
I love this kind of details in design.

I will give you a brief summary:
Grandracomon and then the 7 demon lords. There, that's the hierarchy, the 7 lords doesn't have an special order they do what they want, and grandraco is the owner/creator of the place the other 7 live in
I wish they delved more into the Angel lore, especially filling the missing Principalities rank and giving Seraphimon & Shadow Seraphimon an X form like Ophanimon & Cherubimon! This is my favorite group of Digimon

They are. Especially the Cherubimon Vice. A INT attacker and does a lot of damage on a single target. :)
@@DigimonCentral cherubimon virtue does a lot of damage too, but on multiple targets. And has that nifty X-Aura ability which is kinda broken against anything that can't do instant death attacks.

@holllllke123 If you really want to experience the true power of the Royal Knights I suggest you to read de Xros Wars manga, watch de X-Evolution CGI movie (I believe it was uploaded in youtube years ago) and/or play the Cyber Sleuth games. They are by far the strongest digimon group (Don't trust the frontier adaptation, those were nerfed AF versions, even the Savers version are stronger). The only ones that are equal to them are the 7 Great Demon Lords. The Olympos XII are a tricky case, some of their profiles say that their ability rivals the one of the Royal Knights, and even the lore from Digimon Crusader (card video game) is not sure of what would happen if both forces clashes.
Well the Royal Knights are considered the strongest group of Digimon. They're Yggdrassil's personal army anyway.

It is fascinating that it has a lot of parallelism with the ranking of angels in Christian theology. Also, a lot of their symbolism on their body (crosses, mitra, the stole crossed over the body like priests either do or used to do, depending on your church, number of wings), attacks and even names (like Lucimon, so similar to Lucifer) are based on Christian, biblical, and mostly Catholic or Orthodox terms, rites, usages or beliefs.
Now I know why Holy Angemon was able to bitch slap Piedmon which is at a Mega stage.
I just hope the new version of digimon adventure can bring justice to the 3 great angels and specially seraphimon, as being the higest rank of angel digimon and one of the most powerful digimon..the franchise seems to hate seraphimon so much as kurumada hated aldebaram from saint seiya T.T...like come on, seraphimon can recreate a big bang just like apocalymon, and, i mean, he is the closest being to the god of the entire digimon world!

I don’t have the source you are using to look it up myself, as I am very interested in knowing how the Devils rank, if there is a pattern like by the Angels. Seraphim, Ophanim etc.

There’s a lot more Christian lore in digimon than I thought. Very surprising too considering it’s from Japan. Maybe I’m ignorant but Japan doesn’t strike me as a country with a huge Christian audience.
I just looked it up. Not sure how reliable it is but the first source on a google search claims 1-2% of Japan is Christian and most of that 1-2% live on the western portion. So kinda perplexing why so much Christian lore was included imo. Although, as a Christian myself, I’m not complaining

As a native Hebrew speaker, it always bothers me that they call them things like Seraphimon, because -im is the plural suffix (like -s in English). I think it'd be better to call him Seraphmon.

in digimon tri holydramon is use as the evolution of angewomon because they want to combine all the digimon into the Omnimon.. and this need all the digimon used their true form in ultimate level

@@inagakiirichiro8882 There is no "true" forms in digimon. The evolution is based on the childs emotions, both Ophanimon and Holydramon are forms of Hikari's didmon at different moments. Just like SkullGreymon is a form of Taichi's.
Any digimon can evolve into anyone, there is no such thing as "canon lines"

Angelwomon is Magna's counterpart. Is because they chose Gatomon to be adult. Skip Salamon (give it another evo line, maybe another Angel), downgrade Gatomon and create a new Angel in the line.

Seraphimon should have had a sword. A flaming one, with holly runes etched on the blade. Make him the warrior of God. The closest being. They were on the road with Magna Angemon and Excalibur and Seraphimon's armor. Ophanimon has the Javelin, and her partner should have a sword.

Although Seraphimon is considered the highest order of angels, so far, all it's anime appearances (Digimon Movie, Frontier, Adventure Tri) have been total letdowns, which is such a shame. Angemon, Angewomon and Holyangemon all had more impressive appearances and are way more popular and iconic than Seraphimon.

I donno if I watch to many Digimon series that I don't remember a lot of these Digimon or I watch too little lmao, I remember I watch about 5 series. I think it Digimon Adventure 1 & 2, Tamers, Data Squad and the last one is maybe the season 1 of Fusions. I stop keeping up when I got into my teenhood. I start watching it again when Digimon Adventure Tri came, because they are my faves Digimon series and squad.
Ophanims are those really creepy ring wheel things with eyes all over. Cherubs are the baby angels. Seraphs are the average adult humanoid ones with wings.
