I've had that old Wave model for years and recently broke it out. Disappointingly it's only 1/144 scale, and no clear bits to make adding LEDs possible without cutting into him. Want this one for sure, good video all around.
Just wanna let you know I beat Single Player mode on the highest difficulty (8) with Temjin tonight! My first time tackling Single Player too. I actually set the difficulty to 8 just to see how much harder it would be than the default difficulty (3), which I was actually just struggling with right beforehand. However, this time around I figured out how to change directions mid-dash and how to apply that within the first few stages. Unexpectedly, I then had no trouble destroying enemy VRs! But the midway miniboss musta taken me 10 tries before I figured out a strategy to beat it.
I've built 6 of the Volks Five Star Stories kits and was looking around for info on the Virtual On kits since they have them available at Volks USA. Glad to see you had a video of a build on this one! It's a little small but looks good. Might grab both Temjin and Fei Yen now :)

I have had this kit in my backlog for over 3 years now. I also intended on installing LEDs, but on a 555 oscillating circuit to pulse/fade the LEDs like in the video game. Did you have to modify any of the parts for the LEDs? Drill holes for wire passage? What sizes of LEDs did you use? Do the wires hinder the mobility in any significant way?
Yes Yes For the Temjim model I had to do extensive amount of modifications to install the LED lights. For example the head which was the hardest part of the kit require 3 LED lights to illuminate the visor II visor and the Jewel on top of the head. As for the wiring for the whole entire kit I use a spool of wire called 50 foot magnetic solid copper insulated wire. Which is the thinnest where I can find out on the market that actually gets the job done for this scale model kit. As for the size of the LED light just hop on over to the link below for Evans designs website and look for an LED called "chip LED. light".

Did you pass a wire directly through the joint or did you route around it? I considered using conductive thread in place of wire as I imagined it to be more durable than solid core wire. The alternative being multistrand wire.
I want to pick up this kit, but I had a bit of a nightmarish experience with Hasegawa's kits over coloring, so I'm a little worried. How friendly is this one towards a straight build?

Sadly nope, yellow and clear pink are the ones that you have to actually paint,i am also building this kit and i do prefer this over the Wave kits! i am still huntin the Kotobiyukia kit, let's hope they will re-release it or bandai will eventually made it a HG

would u recommend this kit for someone who has only made like 2 gunpla models ever and has no interest in painting/customization
