Everything about this video is so awesome, the lighting, the direction..... it all works so well with the music. One of the best songs I've heard ever, and I loved your reaction to it :)
It just struck me that it's winter in the southern hemisphere so, if you are in South Africa... stay warm. ;-) Great review guys. I was late to Leprous but definitely digging them. Cheers from Florida.
@@BradAlenaMetalReactions I miss London. I grew up all around Europe and lived northeast of you (go ITFC!) for four years. I actually miss the weather (they don't hear that often). ;-) Stay safe.
I’d say referring to my knowledge of drumming as any sort of expertise is a bit… generous. 😁 But thanks! The stage lighting fit the song very well, but it’s too bad Baard was cloaked in darkness the entire time. The drum playthrough video of this song is great, though. It features a guest drummer, Baard going through multiple drumsticks, and cameras shaking due to the intensity of his performance. Plus, he even manages to keep his shirt on the whole time! If anyone is interested: th-cam.com/video/nj6fM2KpyOA/w-d-xo.html Some things to watch for in that video: how lightly Baard holds the sticks, as a tight grip would prevent all the nuance and speed he puts into his playing; his basic playing style is closed/cross-handed (R hand on hi hats/cymbals, L hand on snare); and even though the composition is rhythmically chaotic, he actually does lock in with the guitar and bass with his right foot on the kick drum quite a bit, and it is *especially* noticeable in the breakdown at the end. Also, for the first two minutes of the performance, it sounds like the singer is channeling Ian Astbury of The Cult a little. To me, at least.
He says "expertise" is generous. Then proceeds to drop more expertise on us :D :P Thanks for commenting. I'll need to go back and watch again to look out for this.

if you ever do a drum playthrough for this band I would recommend the song Moon, by their drummer. its a beautiful piece of art.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'm definitely keen for some drum playthroughs :)

Masterpiece!!! Exstremely talented prog rock/metal band!!
Yeah they really blew us away!
I would've went with the Drum Playthrough, personally. But more Leprous is great.
We definitely need to do some Baard Kolstad drum cams :)
i enjoy the fact you guys used "Spheres of madness" by Decapitated as intro song
Leprous “Moon” is amazing
In my mind this song has a video where the first part is someone being heavily bullied and the latter part is payback time
So great analysis. Love the band and your displayed reaction to them!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! :)

We're in London, so also sweating my ass off haha! :D But my family will be freezing in South Africa :P

Haha no way, that's really cool actually! Stay safe as well! :)
Hope you came through the storm ok, King Brutus! Looks like Florida missed the worst of it, but still.
Cheers from New England!
Some Alcest or Cult of Luna I think would be great to react to! Tesseract as well! Give them a try ;)
Thanks for the suggestions Vasile :)

The band is known for it's incredible vocal but the drums and choir in this, damn. So sexy!
