I miss driving this coast so badly! It was one of the most exciting drives I have ever done and a life experience. Don't go by bus or taxi, drive it yourself!
If you have ever lived in Italy you understand the difference.. No video could describe the feeling of.. True happiness.. Actually.. It is magical.. And the people are so nice to you... Awww :-(
Word of warning about the roads - if you suffer from travel sickness make sure you've taken some tablets for it. The roads are VERY bendy, and well, I had to learn the hard way :P Would still recommend it though!
The make-up of our tour groups varies by tour and itinerary. For example, the 7 day city tours seem to have a younger clientele because they fit more conveniently into 20 and 30 year-olds' vacation time and are more economically appealing. Our summertime tours have an even younger average, since lots of families travel then. Usually though, we get a good mix of 20s-70s, singles and couples, and friends traveling together.
Absolutely amazing. Highly recommend Sentiero Degli Dei ('Walk of the Gods') from Bomerano winding down to Positano for some stunning views above the Amalfi Coast.
I was shocked about how theyre meal preferences, differences, difficulty crossing streets & how spanish and italian are much alike. Also how much of what ive seen is shared among other european countries tho not shocked by that. When I see many europeans I can tell instantly theyre not american regardless of clothing they wear. Oh yeah and how spaghetti and meatballs & fettucini alfredo are not italian either
Does anyone know the age group (or range) that usually travels the Rick Steves tours through Europe? I'm interested in going through the Italy tour but prefer not to travel with 20-40 groups. I'll feel old:-) Thanks:-)
My wife and I stayed at a hotel in Sorrento, we had dinner every night on a balcony overlooking Capri and Vesuvius. The view was stunning. Oh, and so was the food.
4 stars, want to live there.. I love Italy and the riviera
The drive along the Amalfi Coast is Crazy, breathtaking but crazy!
To three months I will go to the Amalfi Coast. I can't wait! :)
One of the great road trips. I will come back!
It is my dream to visit Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast! Great tips and scenery! The coves remind me of Laguna Beach a bit.

looks good, too bad for the beach though
Gorgeous scenery but even the blind should go for the legendary Amalfi lemons. Go buy a bottle of lemoncello liqueur and you'll be hooked forever.
