Funnily enough I talked about exactly this topic with Ilya from kovray a few days ago. Well... kind of. I just told him that I was super excited for Lorcana last year. I wanted to play, collect... I even designed a few cards myself. But the shortage at first and later the horrendous prices shops in Germany had cooled down my enthusiasm a lot. Now there are so many cards that it seems a bit overwhelming for me to really start collecting. I'm a bit of a completionist and with finances being a difficult topic... I don't think I'd be happy with getting just a few cards here and there. By the way - I love your shelf arrangement again. It's cool when the displayed games thematically match the topic of the video.
Thanks, Libby has been tinkering with the shelves lately, we might try to customise them more often, even if just for the top 10's or something Tbh with Lorcana we started off thinking that we would need to complete the chapters and buy individual cards to do so etc - and getting boosters can feel a little addictive for sure. But the way we are able to play isn't often tournaments and club meets, it's mostly at home or with friends, so as the chapters have progressed we are feeling less completionist about the game. We enjoy a silly wacky deck design but often play with starter sets and are pretty happy with a mix of cards from the various sets we have. If you can mentally pigeon hole the Gateway pack as a complete mini legacy biardgane it's totally playable long term as it is.
I started playing 3 weeks ago, and I already own all but 3 starter decks, and I've cracked a bunch of packs. I live how cost friendly the game is to play
Yea that's great! Which chapters have you gone for so far? We have said in the past how you can just play a game with two starter decks and don't have to make a big spend to start. Of course like all TCG games there is the possibility of paying to win and having all the desk card combos in a draw deck but that's not something we have done

@@blueseqperl thanks so much ! Can you tell from the Ears that we like going to Disney Parks !?
Are the cards from the First Chapter set or is it a bit of a mix?
It's a mix from of all the chapters up to Ursulas Return. So sets 1-4
