    I just got 703s, using to troubleshoot MACBOOK charging problem. Happy so far.
    The 703s MENU has a "More APPs" selection; do you know of any that can be loaded? Maybe a 'mirror display to PC'? Because the device does have folders besides "Firmware". ZoTek has nothing I can find.

    Impressive - I was expecting it to be double the price of the 10Mhz model, but it is just $10 or $20 more? I have only had my 702S for 5 minutes and it's now out of date! I like the larger screen and the image viewer for screenshots, and the signal generator is not bad. My one also has a stiff BNC so I am pleased they fixed that too. I'd love to see a teardown and see the PCB compared with the 10Mhz one. Also the current draw on the battery. 👍

    i regret buy this 703s, many youtuber recomended this device, scope not working well. autorange is useless, function generator is joke. multimeter is "okay" but i cant understand why they sacrifice the font size for useless bargraph. no temp and min max feature, usb is also only for copy picture, no datalog, its bad device, i think its not worth it, just another junk, honestly this can be a good meter if they make it open source, all the problem maybe can be fixed with good firmware. i have the latest firmware 1.39 when writing this comment, and its buggy

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi, thank you for your comment, please realize you mostly get what you pay for, and getting firmware updates for a device in this price range is already exceptional and also you can not expect it to perform as good as devices 2 or more times the price, most youtubers take these points into account . i can only speak for my channel and i bought the device myself with my own money, i did my tests and i have shared that. you could have know about the generator and usb function, but you maybe watched other channels or skipped trough it quickly. i hope later firmware updates will fix some of the problems you have. i like the idea of them making it opensource, that would be great indeed, i hope they will.

      @@salalkhairaat8156 You are totaly correct, it should indeed atleast work normal. if not contact the seller and try getting a refund.
      That is also a good sign to the supplier something is wrong. i nowadays send it back if it is not good, sadly the last months it happens more and more, i hope AliExpress is not going to be the new BangUgood. Ali has been good the last years.

      There seems to be quite a few problems but nobody has done a good break down. The battery management seems to be an after thought. Many have noted in various comments throughout the web. It seems like the charge light oscillates from dim to bright at full charge. That suggests it does not have a proper charge cut off and load sharing circuit. Pretty basic thing to include. Definitely don't leave this unit to charge and forget about it. I've seen one translated review that shows the rise time is no where near the stated spec. Pitiful. Nobody else seems to have looked into it.
      Such half thought design doesn't matter as much for your random $10-$20 DMM but at $70-$80 equipment is not throwaway money. Maybe for the pro-electronics engineers who are used to a shelf full of $1000 scopes. They can say, 'eh whatever good enough for newbies playing with toy circuits'. But coming from the other side. This isn't really a very good recommendation. Better to save up some more for a bench top scope because one will eventually need to purchase thoroughly designed device that doesn't have a bunch of weird issues.

Having family and a fulltime job, that is all the time i can spend on it, i try to be as fair as i can in that time and then move on the the next video. The charging i prob will never notice during that time, the risetime test i did btw. ,if i like a product and its very useful you will see me using them a lot in my other videos too. i have 2x the amount of equipment then you see on my desk, so when its on the desk i use it. Thank you for the review, Tony. It is amazing how many features they can cram into these devices. It looked to me like the upper frequency limit of the scope was a triggering issue rather than a bandwidth issue. As you said, the displayed amplitude did not drop significantly between 47 and 48 MHz. Are there any trigger modes other than auto? - if so it might be interesting to experiment with them. Regards, David

      Thank you, excellent video. I got the 702S from Amazon and while researching for issues like counterfeit units, etc. I found out about the 703S and AliExpress was the only place that had them for sale. Can you back up firmware updates until the next firmware after problems are fixed. This is going to make my learning and using Arduino much more enjoyable retirement activity. Been in electronics since 1972, 10 years earlier if you count me taking apart anything electrical/electronics, my Dad did not enjoy that. I impersonated an electronics technician, engineering lab technician, computer support specialist and other duties at a Defense contractor for 25 years, all started with taking apart my Dad's kitchen alarm clock radio and fixing it. He noticed it mysteriously worked again. Same on the TV, I waited for him to go to work, I marked all the tunes positions, removed them, rode my bike to the tube tester at the Rexall Drug store, bought the needed tube that was bad. Just remember to put some dust or dirt on the new tube so your Dad doesn't notice. He knew I fixed the clock radio too but didn't like either. He was Mr. Cautious thinking I'd get electrocuted and take down the power station and be shamed by the neighbors. Thanks again.

    I watched to see how crappy this was, and yes, you pointed out that the Owon hand-held oscilloscope was much better. The function generator is not good enough to add a BNC connector. Only 1x 16850 battery and the specs are not detailed fully like compareble test equipment. Maybe the price is good but better not to waste it if a little more get you a much better functioning and usable device. I might sound a little biased as I own an Owon HDS2202S. 3 BNC and more user-friendly operating experience. Thanks for showing us the Zoyi.

    Hi Tony, you didn't show the main thing for me. Whether or not this device will be able to show the sine wave of its generator with its oscilloscope, precisely while the frequency of the internal generator is changing.
    To set up the resonant circuits, I need to look through the oscilloscope window, and at the same time change the frequency of the generator, all this must happen simultaneously.
    It seemed to me that if it is possible to reduce the size of the generator window when the oscilloscope is turned on, I might try to check this.
    Is this device suitable for this?

    If you are probing 50 mhz, you probably aren't going to be using a $125 anything. I've been at this well over 40 years and with rare exception, there is no need to be measuring up there, especially at the hobbyist level. Anyone pro will likely have active probes which cost 10 times what this costs plugged into a scope that costs 100 times what this costs. If you are doing that kind of work, you aren't shopping for $125 meters.
