It's 1992. My dad and I are playing Arnold Palmer which we rented from the local video store. He explains what a birdie and bogey are. My mother brings us snacks. Our dog is excited about something he saw through the window. We're no longer all here but a treasured memory remains.
My dad was really into golf and he bought this game for me shortly after I had my Mega Drive - it was the only game he'd play on it with me and they're memories that I'll treasure forever. I got PGA Tour later on but he didn't seem to enjoy that one as much.
I remember this came out after we'd played Nintendo Jack Nicklaus golf and we were blown away by the graphics of AP Golf. Then The PGA Tour Golf came out and that then was mind blowing and years of great fun. Links came out on PC in the early 90's and blew them all away and I think Links LS is still the best of various golf games.
Nope. I think it was originally a Japanese golf game, and Sega managed to get Arnold Palmer to "endorse" it in a way when they released it in other parts of the world
By playing the game and having a basic understanding of golf, and the clubs. If I could figure this game out as a ~10 year old, I'm sure anyone can. Find a ROM! Or a cart if you have a Genesis/MD. It's a fun game.

Loved this game back in the early 90's thanks for the trip down memory lane.
God damn, that music... what a trip back in time. hahah had some good fun with this game.
@BucketsAMF Yep. This music will forever be burned into my brain.
This is the best sports game on the Sega Genesis in my opinion.
Rest in peace Arnold Palmer you will always be the greatest golfer.
When I was 5/6 I used to play this and think "Wow, this game came out 11 years ago". Now 11 years ago doesn't seem that long at all
sitting by the fire place, late 90s and watching my dad play this game for hours . pure nostalgia..

RIP Arnold Palmer
This is the best sports game on the Sega Genesis in my opinion.
Just picked it up today for $2. Great game.
It is quite a fun golf game. Getting it for $2 is well worth it
Great game, Elvis, the champ!
I like the Sega Classic in 1990.
i have done some chip-in birdies by pure luck before, it was quite impressive of me
This soundtrack was oddly so good.
I think it was used in an arcade game too. Probably a golf game as well
I remember shooting -20 as a kid
Was this the game with the super ceramic clubs option? Man we loved playing this.
I use a cheat code and EVE for 560 yard drive, got a condor once, hole in one on a par 5
Is there a way to tell the maximum distance of each club in this game? Thanks.
Another game bought for the kids and I end up playing more than them. Xmen as well
I've never played X Men. I remember seeing a preview of it on a TV show once, but I've never given it a go
Sooooo you don't see Arnold Palmer anywhere in the game besides the game title?😕

Grab Bag
How the hell do you know when to use which clubs?

Game manual had yardage for clubs
I liked pga tour golf a bit better.
PGA Tour was definitely better. I had PGA Tour II and also European Tour. Preferred PGA Tour II.
