- Hello everyone!
We are back with another Keep or Cull episode, and we played a lot of games this time as well.
Games we had never played, games we hadn't played in 8 years, and some old favorites as well.
We hope you'll enjoy it!
A huge thanks to James Wood from @ThatBoardGameShow for editing this video.

I appreciate that you say the votes out loud. I'm not always looking directly at the video, so it is super helpful.
Same for me 👍
Thank you! We try to remember, so thar it’s easier to digest the video :)
My kid and I do a bracket tourney to do this same thing where the opening round is basically the keep or cull round.
The absolute best series!!
Thank you so much! Glad that you are enjoying it 🤩
Expansion for Cascadia is so good. Elevevates a great game into a forever keep. So good.
I enjoyed it quite a bit! Will absolutely play with it next time as well. Fantastic game 🤩
I vote for an updated Top 10 Feld series, mainly because since your last one you've mentioned aquasphere being better than you remember, and that's one of my favorites
Seems like many people are excited for an updated Feld list, so I think we’re gonna get one out when the top 100 (starting next week) is finished :)
Wow, the attempted Cull for Furnace with Interbellum was insane! :-)
Sad to see Forever Home go. It's a game that's close to my heart because of the theme. I enjoy working the simple puzzle while admiring the artwork. I'm always happy when I play it because of that.
Really nice theme! And a fun game as well, so I’m happy that you are enjoying it :)
For me, it was one I was happy to have tried, but I personally do not need to play it again!
That explanation of Maps of Mistarra made absolutely no sense whatsoever😂
Hahahaha! Do not use it as a rules video 😅
Looking forward to when you're finally able to begin the 2022 edition of Keep or Cull!
It will be around year 2047 😅
My biggest gripe with Furnace is that you can’t really tell if people are playing right or accidentally cheating. I don’t like games where at the end we just compare points. I want to see how you’re getting those points!
That makes a lot of sense, and is absolutely a flaw of the game!
Are you doing the production phases simultaneously? We plan our production simultaneously but watch each other when we actually process our chains.
I haven't played Takenoko in forever, maybe longer than you two did, but I don't think I'll ever get rid of it for sentimental reasons. I also don't have nearly as many games as you do, so I can make space for it (although it is technically in my closet right now!).
We have a few of those nostalgic games, but I am ok about getting rid of most of them now!
For filling that Las Vegas gap in your collection, give Dice Manor a shot! :)
We played it a while ago, and it did give us Las Vegas vibes. Enjoyed it quite a bit, but didn’t end up keeping it, sadly! Just too many games, and too few shelves 😅
Or Las Vegas Royale
Just as a quick note re Venice, if you liked the gameplay and the issue was just the components, they released an expansion with a bigger board which is now actually easily usable.
That is nice to know! We did enjoy the game, but not enough to go out and buy it again, hehe :)
My husband and I liked Roll Camera (our box doesn't open like that), but I wouldn't miss if we didn't play it again. I did not like Furnace at all. Oh, I LOVE Las Vegas. So easy to pull and play with anyone. I've even played it solo, playing two players...LOL! Sunniva, I love tile-laying games and puzzles as well, so Cascadia is a love for me too. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed the video! So many games, so we all have to choose the ones that gives us the most joy!
@@BoardGamingRamblingsSo true!
Yokohama is probably a forever keep for me. Love that game. I culled Cascadia myself. I thought it was fine. Much prefer Furnace for that same length of game. I don't have Age of Rome, but I played it once and feel pretty similarly to you both on that. Lovely production.
Yokohama is so much fun! 🤩
@@BoardGamingRamblings The artwork on the new edition sure is pretty, doubtful that it will replace my deluxe edition version though.
600 games culled in four years! Great job. Considering all of the incoming games in those four years, what’s the net reduction in your collection since you started four years ago?
I think we have around 600 games still 😂
I’d love to see you do a top 10 Feld games video!
I can do a top ten Feld games in written form!
We’ll do one soon for sure :)
When discussing Forever Home (12:30) what do you mean "have multiple patterns on your board and place 7 cards to end the game in one round"? You can't have more than 5 training cards in your hand (rulebook p.4). Besides, as soon as you create the required shape on your grid, the Training Card MUST be immediately scored, possibly removing some dogs from your grid (rulebook p.4) and preventing you to score more than a couple Training Cards per round.
I had finished two cards, so only needed five more to end the game, and I had my board set up so that I could play all five cards in a row, if played in a very specific order that didn’t destroy other patterns when removing dogs from the scored pattern! 😁
Top 10 Stefan Feld please!
We’ll try to do it soon :)
You need to keep Hey Yo just in case you need some beats for the Crossover Dance.
Hahahaha! You are correct 😂
I wish this video had timestamps with the names of the games and when you begin discussing each. I'd love to flip through specific ones, but I'm not so interested in watching the full video, sorry :c
Sorry, you seem great though and I appreciate how informative this can be!
Hey :D
We did do it for a couple of videos, but most people voted (when I asked) that they didn’t need it for these videos, as most people watch the whole thing!
We do very openly change the cover of each game, so it should still be pretty easy to skim and find the next game you are interested in!
Hope thst helps (at least a little bit) 🤩
Thank you for watching! 🥳
@@BoardGamingRamblings Thanks for the response - I definitely understand that, I know it can take a while to check and write up those timestamps, and it very well may not be worth the effort in your case - that's understandable.
The main thing for me was when I was trying to find specific games that comments were discussing in the video.
I was able to skim with the timeline using the exact thing you discussed about holding up the boxes visibly, so I do appreciate that at least! :)
Glad to hear! I might try to add stamps next time :) Thank you for the input! We always appreciate it!
what version of takenoko is that? never seen a rectangular box for it (other than the huge special edition)
Hmm, good question! I do think it is a Scandinavian release!
Feld update, pretty please
Seems like many want it, so we’ll get one out after the top 100 (starting next week) finishes!
You need a more exciting background.
Sometimes I agree, sometimes I don’t, hehe! Last time we asked the community, most people voted for us to keep the background we have now!
We also do not have a huge studio space, so we don’t have that many options! :)
