Wage increases are also used as excuses by politicians in order to justify raising existing taxes or implementing new taxes, from income tax to property tax.

Strike now and the world can move on didn't last couple days that they were on strike probably made it bad for the world, even though it didn't last that long, but it made it really bad for people that needed stuff and couldn't get it.
