The one thing you guys fail to understand is that Nigeria’s unique accent - the pidgin English”- makes our brand of Afrobeats sweet to the listening ears just as the Jamaican patio which is unique to the Jamaican makes Reggae/dance special. So when your artistes try to sing Afrobeats, it doesn’t vibe just as when they make dancehall that doesn’t vibe like that of the Jamaican. You can’t beat someone on his own game. The sooner you guys realize this and think of a unique way to brand your Afrobeat, dancehall, hip life, high life or whatever you want to call it.

It's not a bad thing to celebrate with your friends or your African brothers and sisters. My main point is that Ghanaians don't know how to push their culture, when they see Nigeria's celebrating they'll start whispering to themselves.
The club where the Nigerians party here is owned by a Ghanaian man, but I haven't seen any Ghanaian artists here but you always find naija artists.

Sammy, as a Nigerian I'll say the problem you guys have is that you're trying to compete with Nigerians in the exact same lane we already dominate in regarding afrobeats. It's not possible, we own this genre because we develop and support it from scratch to where it is today. You guys have failed to push your highlife or hiplife and suddenly you think you can be at the same level as Nigeria at our own type of music we pushed to the world as it is today, you can't because you will forever be in our shadows this way.
You have to create your own music lane and support it to the max amongst yourselves and to the world. You cannot beat America nor Jamaica at their own sounds they already dominate so you develop your own indegious sound that defines you that is appealing and pleasing to the ear. That's what we did.

None of the Highlife performers collaborated with none African musicians!

As a 70s baby, what I heard in the eighties growing up that was not from Nigeria was from South Africa... When The Right Honorable Fela Anikolakpo Kuti named his creation Afrobeat where were you Ghanaians? Do not imitate, innovate and stop this useless debate.
That said, one must also recognize the contributions of members of his band of Ghanaian origin; who professionally interpreted Fela's ideas, demands, and sound into the Original Afrobeat. The Nigeria vs. Ghana debate is useless and we must stop it.

The cynical approach to Nigerian issues on this platform is alarming. Please Afrobeats is there for the taking, you can jump on the wagon and you do not need Nigerian permission. The way the presenter suddenly breaks into his native Ghana language is very unprofessional, the only reason for this is to alienate those who cannot understand that language when he wants to be negative towards Nigeria. What have we Nigerians done to deserve this kind of antagonistic posture from Ghanaian music pundits.....we just do music.
