    Wait, so is a multistate nation just when like a culture is over multiple nations?Also isn’t the U.K. A Multistate nation, how so? Is a multinational when multiple cultures are in one nation?( like the U.S.)

    • @salehaali4619
      @salehaali4619 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would say that the UK is a multinational state not a multistate nation because the different nations of the UK are culturally distinct but they are all still part of the UK. A multinational state is when multiple nationalities (or cultures/ethnicities) are in one country. So yes, the U.S. would be a multinational state.

    • @viennapanossian8166
      @viennapanossian8166 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A multistate nation is when a culture or nation is over multiple states/countries. The UK is not a multistate nation because the UK is not a nation, or an ethnicity who share a common history, language, etc. A multinational state is a state with multiple cultures/nationalities. Make sure not to confuse nations, states, and countries. While a state is technically another term for a country, a state is NOT the same as a nation. Hope this helps and gl on tuesday! :)

    Mr. Sinn, I'm having to do the guided notes for this, but I can't seem to get all the answers. I'm stuck at question 3 on the multinational states. And the rest of the guided notes questions. Is there a script or, captions for this video that I could see instead? My problem is I can't clearly hear you and I'm having trouble understanding what question you are answering about this.

    7:08 Technically, you're right Mr. Sinn, but I feel that the Kurds would be a great example of Stateless Nation. I don't know why, but I think that due to the leadership of Mustafa Kemal (with the Turks) fought successfully to spread their power and culture within the Kurds areas.

    • @MrSinn
      @MrSinn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would argue that the Kurds can be both a stateless nation and a multistate nation. Since the kurds share a common history and culture while occupying a variety of states, this would make them a multistate nation. However, at the same time they do not have a state of their own and do have a history of self-determination which would make them a stateless nation as well.
