Why is the plane the plane that the F-35 is supposed to be replacing getting the auto ground collision system while the F-35 is getting the manua version ??? Did i just hear wrong or miss something bc that makes absolutely no sense to me...

The F-16 is just a test bed. You wouldn't want to test a completely new untested system on another completely new and untested system.

I know this is yeaaaaaars later, but we also have wayyyy more F-16's. Putting them on the F-16's would save more lives than F35, if we are talking odds here.

What if the pilot needs to fly really low ?

      Deactivate. Re calibrate.

It's possible that the system considers how quickly you are descending, the faster you are descending, the higher it warns you. If you are not descending, you may be able to get close to the ground without a warning.

The gyroscope is able to tell if the plane is heading nose down at high speed and will initiate the recovery process.

Do jets ever encounter turbulence while flying like commercial passenger planes?

Yes of course. The aircraft doesn't react nearly as much however since the wing loadings on military a/c tend to be higher - more weight per unit of wing area - and consequently they fly in a manner that's a little closer to the bullet end of the spectrum than your typical airline jets.

@AlienDonut The US already spends a massive amount on education. Go complain to your school in how they are allocating funds. Source: nces.ed.gov/programs/coe/indicator_cmd.asp
