I plan to hang my mats when I have my craft room set up. For a temporary protective placement of the 12x12 mats I can easily slide the mats under my Maker. This storage never interferes with the action of the machine. Unfortunately I am not sure it will work for the 12x24 mats.
I have been watching the free videos for about a year. Today I plunged and joined the MGL group. One of the main reasons I joined is because I have learned almost everything I have done with my Maker that I have owned for about a year and a half has come from watching the videos. I have really used the helpful tips about how to clean mats, weeding vinyl from the mats, using shapes in Design Space, kerning fonts, working with vinyl, and so much more. I am really looking forward to doing more with my machine than cards and vinyl (non-iron on). I know Makers Gonna Learn will take me to the next levels.

Hey Tanner!, Here’s a suggestion that has helped me and hopefully it will help others too. After you cut the design out, on the bigger empty space on your mat, place the clear mat covering over it (of course you don’t cover your design). Just by doing this, your fingertips, dust and tiny vinyl pieces will not be able to stick back onto the part that you’re not using.

Rachael said to use the Kraft board setting. I was so frustrated because I used the medium weight setting for like 80 lb cardstock, and it didn't cut, then I used glitter and then the intricate card stock setting, and it didn't work. So I happened on Rachael's video on cutting card stock, where She showed cut card stock that looked like mine, a really ruff cut like somewhat torn around the edges. She suggested a great tip. Put Cricut on the kraft board setting. I did and my cuts were so nice they just fell off the mat. Now for the light weight card stock I used the normal setting, and the card stock cut really well.

I thought all the hacks were very helpful. Some of them I’ve been using. And I have to say I liked it the video was very precise and short. Sometimes videos are a little long-winded and I don’t always have time to view the whole thing. You’re doing a great job Tanner!

I just bought a Maker 3 and a bunch of permanent vinyl, iron on vinyl, tools kit/sets, mats (multiple cutting & self healing), transfer tape, blades/tips/quickswap housing, markers, a TrueControl weeding kit, foil transfer kit/sheets, etc. at the end of May/beginning of June because I want to make a ton of stuff for home, my kids, parties, my wedding next year, and I wanted to start my own business(es) once I mastered of the products/crafts I’d like to sell…
AND THEN I got laid off shortly after! 🫣🤦🏻‍♀️ So now I’m planning to master a few products I’m hoping will sell well and list those initially while I’m work on learning others to list…
Your videos have been EXTREMELY helpful and educational!!! By far my favorite Cricut TH-cam channel!!! I pulled everything out of the box the day I got it and signed up for Design Space, but I put everything back in the boxes and haven’t taken it back out yet because I’m thoroughly confused on all of it! 🤔😵‍💫😅
Hoping as I get thru more of your videos I’ll be comfortable enough to start!!
I really liked all these hacks, but I think bringing the blank into Design Space will be super helpful to visualize the final product and make sure it matches the idea in my head!!
Thank y’all for putting out such amazing educational content for free! I can’t wait to get some income coming in and sign up for a membership to learn even more!!! 🤗🤗

Using the shapes of my blanks has saved me so much aggravation. Weeding on the mat also is a huge help. I took my measuring tape out of my sewing box and put it in one of the bins on my peg board. I'm going to be using all of these hacks. So far everything I've learned from MGL, has been valuable. I joined a Jan 1, 2022 and the information I'm learning is amazing. The cut files and fonts are fabulous. It's so worth it!

Your content has taught me and inspired me so much with my new cricut! It’s super intimidating trying to not only learn a new software but also learn new mediums like vinyl and paper?
Do you happen to have a video referencing your favorite brands of vinyl/materials that aren’t cricut brand? It can get so expensive!
