Ah CT I'm sick today over this. Tomorrow I will look forward to summer league and off-season and next season. Lots to unpack from Quick being a Raptor to wondering if what we saw in January will ever be again. Right now the Knicks surgical team is our starting squad. They have to be perfect.
So many people saying "if we had OG"... we need to wrap our minds around the fact that we didn't have OG & that is the more likely scenario going forward. We need another 3 and D wing to fill in bc he's going to miss more than 20 games + playoffs.
Josh Hart on the Knicks fans' appreciation after he was subbed out in Game 7: "It was my fourth team, sixth coach. I wanted a home. I gotta thank the fans for embracing me. I'm not perfect. There's a lot of ups and downs with Josh Hart. They've embraced me"
Alot of mixed feelings right now. Very disappointed in the outcome. I was hoping for a deeper run . However, given the circumstances , I am very happy about this season. This team showed alot of guts and resolve. They over came so many obstacles to get to this point. If you would have told me , the Knicks would be out of 4 starters due to injuries and still make the 7 the game before the ECF, I would have taken it in a heart beat. But I am very proud of this team that I have been following for decades. This is the world team of this generation. Imagine how many thousands of young kids from around the world have fallen in love with this amazing team . Thank you CT for a great season and for covering our beloved Knicks. I wish you nothing but the best for the off season and your great channel to grow .. I'm keeping the faith as only a Knicks fan knows how to do. Next year will be a greater year and if healthy , I think we can make a serious run for a chip. Let's go Knicks !
Salute CT! tough tough break for these gritty Knicks...just did not have enough ammo with so many critical injuries . They were gassed the last two games....JB had no lift on his shots. I still proud of this team but you need all your dogs to get to the EFC. I feel bad for all the Knick fans but the team will bounce back.. Respect ....you did a great Job this season CT!
I owe Burks an apology of sorts. If I had known he had a shoulder injury, I would not have been so hard on him. Shout out to Bojan. He played better as the season wore on.#2025KnicksRuntheNBA
Sure. Nice to have an overachieving Cinderella season that we could all enjoy. As an OG though, I don’t wear rose colored glasses for long. In my view, Thibs did what he always does. Run players into the ground. And Leon Rose let him, by trading away and trading down draft pics that Thibs would have had to develop and coach. Like actually putting IQ and RJ Barrett to better use with better offensive spacing. Trading Obi and Grimes for virtually nothing, is further evidence. You can’t start playing a bench out of injury necessity. The current NBA is way too talented to not be playing 9/10 deep every night. Sure, give Thibs a 2 year extension, but bring in young talent for depth … that actually plays. Sure sign OG to a team friendly contract We need playmaking depth, because Brunson, Josh Hart and Ragu should not be playing damn near 48 minutes per night. Thibs did the same thing with Randle. We need a quality 5 that will be part of an offense behind Hartenstein. Mitch is injury prone, and when he’s in the game we play 4 against 5. We need Thibs to hold Randle accountable. And the front office needs to hold Thibs accountable. There is no reason to run starters into the ground all season to maximize winning every game, while NBA rot on the bench. With the consequence of being unprepared for injuries. Else, the Knicks are happy with the status quo. Being satisfied with being a play-in, or a lucky first, 2nd round team, does not reflect championship aspirations. Nobody else in the East will remain status quo. Orlando is stocked and is on the come up. Cleveland, if they sign Mitchell, is way deeper than us. Don’t sleep on the 76’ers, Bucks, Heat, or the Raptors. We’ll see if the pundits are right that the Knicks as presently constituted are not a sustainable winner, with Thibs being Thibs. NYC deserves better if the Rose colored glasses are off.
I though it was a bad omen at the time, before game 6 a reporter asked Josh Hart what it would be like playing Boston and Hart said it would be great and the rivalry and all would be good and then he said Indiana was a good team, never think you won a series before it is over Josh should have told the reporter all that on your mind was the Pacers!
@@harpoon_bakery162 But your victory came at the benefit of our atttition. It took you all 7 games to beat a team that was missing 3 starters 1 rotation player, an injured 6th man and our star that was injured in the final game. Good luck beating BOS. You're going to need it!
@@buzzerbeater3350 Do you think I need you to list off your bad luck 🤣🤣😂 , I have something called the internet and a TV , I'm all set. CT, are you going to host Bill Daughtry after the awards are announced on Wednesday? I can't wait to see where Brunson lands. I don't trust the NBA, especially when it comes to awards.
Ok, Let’s think about it this way… If two teams that the national media believes are rougher, tougher & play with credibility AND are likely to unseat the Celtics as the best in the east…lose star player after star player to a team going thru the playoffs, there has to be a story there. Wait, hold on, these are soft tissue injuries on the lower extremities, abdominal muscle injuries, foot injuries, hand injuries…this team they are playing must be the Bad Boy Pistons or a Pat Riley led franchise…right? Opponent star players have been not able to finish the series against this team. A DNF? Is there a Draymond Greene type enforcer out there for this team? The defensive player of year? No. Literally, the pace of play, the total number of trips up & down the court, the passing rotations around the half court offense and picking up 94 feet by the 2nd unit are the 2024 version of when the no-huddle spread offense hit college football with RG3. Did i mention the 3 pointers… Dame, Giannis, Brunson, OG, Hart all missed time unable to continue medically. And Portis missed time due to ejection bc of frustration. I am not suggesting that the 2024 Pacers are an all time, legacy NBA team but credit is due that opponents have not been able to outlast them…to this point.
Great show, CT . I think you went over everything in terms of what the Knicks options are for next year. For me it's a simple equation. You run back the team because we never did see everyone when fully healthy. The Knicks have the core pieces to go all the way next year. What was exposed in the playoffs was the lack of depth because of all the injuries. As a result, the team ran out of gas. We don't need a superstar . We already have one. No team has ever won a chip with too many superstars. You only need one 1A and one 1B players and the Knicks have them in JB and Julius. You just need to surrounded these guys with complimentary pieces. The Knicks just need to add a strong wing and possibly a backup point guard so that when you make a deep run your starting 5 don't get burned out like they did against Indiana. My moves would be to sign OG and IHart. Then make a decision on Mitch. Draft a rebounding wing and evaluate Yacobytis. We need tinkering around the edges not gutting the team . Let's also finally bury this idea about Donovan Mitchell. He does not fit this team! Having him here would take away from JB and Julius. It would mess up the chemistry because that dude is a ball dominant guard.
Wild season for these Knicks! They will be back stronger
