I’m glad you addressed the fact some people buy them without knowing they are scams. When I was younger like around 11 or smth I really wanted a scam suit because they were cheap and I had no idea about scam suits and characters being stolen. I never bought one but I understand when someone does.

I have never bought a fursuit or anything but some of the fursuit makers I’m finding are so expensive like 10k+ 😤 but it’s hard work to make a suit so makes sense why so expensive

It's pretty Harsh to call them. "Monstrosities", But they're definitely not as nice as handmade and professionally made ones, I would just make it myself, It would be a challenge yes because thou has not Done anything like such, For our only due Pencil and paper art, I would try to give it a shot

I think the main reason they charge so much for a suit on these scam sites, is because it makes them look like they make good quality fur suits, cuz good quality fur suits cost alot and the scammers can fly under the radar, but thats just my analogy.

It is bad they take peoples characters and give you a horrible rip-off. if you want a taste of what it is like its better to try a Halloween costume or Dino mask you could get a beautiful Dino mask for less then scams with fur made by a small maker instead of a greedy company.
EDIT: also I heard of companies making characters mass produced not scams to help too! Just got to do a lil research first!!!
