its 12-29-2019 and Im here to inform you Ive had my F9 since 3-5-14 its used weekly and its still doing the job that an Every week Woodsman would use it for. The rubber grip has gotten alittle loose over the past 4 almost 6 now years on the end hex screw/fastenercloses to the blade on the left side of the tang but its not bad I think its maybe from vibration of hitting the tang with a small hammering log when splitting wood. The blade is sharpened as needed but weekly if not. The point came abit thick back in 2014 but that was thinned down by half and sharped to perfection. Ive put a sharpening stone in that little pouch/pocket the sheath came with and its been a great idea since I keep it sharp enough to skin a squirrel with .....GREATEST BLADE IVE EVER OWNED!!!!!!!!!!! I think this Blade will out live me. Cheers!
Was in Academy sports yesterday and this knife was on sale for $33. Came home and watched 8 different reviews and was thoroughly impressed went back today and got it. I have several more expensive ones but as a backup or a knife to loan someone to try it won't break the bank. thanks for review.
I have both big hands and long fingers, so the SCHF9 fit like a glove for me. It is one of those knives that as soon as you take it out for the first time you know you got an excellent tool for a great price. You can do so many things with that 1/4" blade. If you are on a budget then this is a must have that will make you feel like a rich person.
Schrade sent me. Thanks for the video on this knife. It's designed well and can be used for several purposes. This is a great review because you demonstrate it in real life situations. I like The Late Boy Scout's Channel because you review guns and knives in actual field tests.
I don't have that model, but do have the SCHF29 which is a nice knife and I have it on my utility belt so it will be ready to use when I go camping. I have several of Schrade's knives in different categories.
Been really into the big camp knives lately, just did a review of the CRK battle cleaver the other day. I might have to add this to the collection. Thanks for the vid!
bought this knife a week ago beat the evalovin crap out of it absolutly love it after each use I would recomend a light coat of oil on the cutting edge, its not stainless so if left alone the edge can and will rust, this has become my edc do it all knife
Love this channel and watch all the videos that I can. Awesome looking fixed blade. Been going camping alot lately and really need a fixed blade. I have several folders but no fixed blades.
I just got one of these yesterday, goes on the bag I keep in the truck. Haven't used it at all yet, but, ya know, if it was me, I'd just stick the end of the wood in the fire and push it in as it burns down. Or burn it in half. Dang knife is a lot bigger than it looks. Thanks.
Like the review. I actually own most of the schrade line. The schf9 is very versatile and I also liked the review of the schf14 that actually made my mind up to get it. I noticed you have the scaxe2 hanging from your side. Did you make the sling yourself? Are you goin to be doing a review on the axe and maybe the bolo
I did a test/review of the SCAXE2 on the same trip, and that video will be up in the coming weeks. The sling is just paracord, but it's a very comfortable & convenient carry method as I'll demonstrate in the upcoming video.
I love mine! No knife is the best at everything however Schrade has done an excellent job of creating a very well rounded one tool option! I’ve convexed my edge for good edge retention and I mainly use mine for batoning. Any advice on better grind?
I like your product reviews, they have helped in deciding/ deciding not to buy some things and wanted to know your thoughts on Secur SP-1000 Dynamo Fire Starter and Flashlight. Is it a handy item to throw in your bag in a grab and go situation or just a cheap gimmick?
This was a great video I love the editing I have to multi-task everything cause I'm crazy and I love the split screen explanation of features and showing the work being done! Why have I not found your channel before,I'm gonna learn a lot from you thanks for your great work!
the link for this on the Schrade website said to comment on the giveaway. I'm not sure what page to make the requested comments on so this is what I put on that Schrade topic/comment : you could tell they knew what they were talking about and showed actual usage in the field and that was pretty cool. Plus they were very honest and informative where someone else just showing and talking about the product in a room inside the house isn't a very good review in my opinion. I really enjoy their type of video definitely thumbs up! And I deserve it, and every other kind of Schrade knife because it's me. Ha ha because most of what I thought about during the day is about Schrade, and online as well. I am obsessed. I've been trying and trying and trying and trying to get outside in my wheelchair to get the pictures and got in my chair today and batteries were dead things just keep messing up so I think I deserve it and others, and fan of the month or something like that I'm always sharing posts and every giveaway every day on multiple pages as well, and have brought in people. Plus, I am a very very proud member of #Schradenation
Great heavy duty all around knife for all your survival needs. Always have a backup to your backup. Competes with the Ka-bar Becker BK2, and a hell of a lot cheaper. Would love to have this knife. Learned a few things from watching your videos also.
Thanks for the review. I got one recently only $39. with free shipping. It wasn't my first choice, but I am happy with it, to bad it's not US made but at this price point you can't have everything. Great steel, time will tell about the quality of the heat treating.
if the schrades aren't beaters i don't know what else they are. got a schf16, really awesome design and comfortable as hell. excellent for abusing ($15)! very well made video scout! did you also carry the byrd tern?
Good time that was. That blade certainly has the muscle to power through the wood. I agree about the handle, would be nice if they slimmed that down some.
I love that handle hard to find a proper fitting knife in my giganto hands. I like a big knife but dont want a machete this fits the bill big machete like handle smaller blade
I took your recommendation and got the schrade schf9. I ordered it saturday afternoon got it today nice knife, what is your next recommendation on another Schrade knife under $50.00 with just a fine edge? love your reviews
thats awesome brother sweet fix blade to me it looks like it can do averything n that to me is a good tool to have on a hiking n camping even in ur bug out bag thank u brother for that honest good review on the SCHF9
What I really like about this guy is that he's using already dead wood instead of chopping all the trees and saplings around just for the sake of the video.
Was'nt sûre about this knife, but After seeing your vidéo review? Oh Yeah! I'm getting One!! Lové Your Vidéos Bro!! I hope to see You on thé Outdoor Chanel someday!!
If you like this one, you should check out the SCHF10. Schrade fixed everything wrong with the SCHF9 when they made the SCHF10. For the money, its hard to beat the SCHF9, and now the SCHF10 is even harder to beat at only around $45.
I like the knife for the money, my sheath is a little different , no snap, velcro retention loop and the loop for the belt loop also is velcro not sown. I give the knife a good the sheath a poor.
Got my knife in todays post!!! WOW !!! I am So Glad i did!! I Will EDC this knife I always carry my KABAR USMC but this Will be carried Also What good is a "survival" knife if it ISN'T ALWAYS Thérè? Know what they say, once a Boy Scout, Always a Boy Scout
we call a blade like this BUBBA because when we need a sharp knife to get the job done this is what we turn to.for any season this is the knife i would use as a EDC .when we go fishing/hunting/camping. this would be a great go to knife.good luck everyone, may god bless
for whatever reason i do not like the sheath.. iv'e had issues with mine but the actual knife itself is excellent. it gets it done. if u got one of these bushcraft wonders.. a nice recurve or compound bow.. possibly a glock 21sf on your hip a ruger 10/22 and a mosin nagant battle rifle. you got nice lil survival set up for less than 1,000$ bucks ( don't forget the camel back and some first aid gear and fire starter gear and water purification gear)
Doubtful. To be clear here, in many American cities this is not legal to carry as you go about your business. At one point Oregon had a 6" law, Some cities in California have a 3" law. But these are EDC in the city laws, and not camping, farming, homesteading laws... and are subject to a lot of wiggle room. Australian knife laws are way more restrictive, but I don't know how they apply to the bush. But if you walk down any city street with this on your leg know that people will be wondering what you are about.
Glock looks like a combat knife, the Schrade is a bush craft knife. If you need to kill a terrorist use the Glock, but if you need to survive then the Schrade. Your not doing a lot of chopping with that Glock.
Just wanted to remark the quality of your videos have gotten amazing - you are truly ready for any of the outdoor TV channels. EXCELLENT WORK, Bravo!

That is a pretty good knife for the money, just loving alll the great knifes schrade is coming out with, good to see the two of you guys.thanks
great review, the editing on this is really good. i like the way your doing things.
Thanks for noticing, I've been trying to improve that.

I love your review. How you show how it is used. Not just talking and showing the knife. Thanks man!
Schrade sent me. Thanks for the video on this knife. It's designed well and can be used for several purposes. This is a great review because you demonstrate it in real life situations. I like The Late Boy Scout's Channel because you review guns and knives in actual field tests.
Looks like a great knife for the price. I'd like to see the SCHF3N in 1095 too. Nice to see you boys out and about this time of year.
I don't have that model, but do have the SCHF29 which is a nice knife and I have it on my utility belt so it will be ready to use when I go camping. I have several of Schrade's knives in different categories.

just bought one, its really nice and dont know if I want to chop wood with it. Not that I dont think it will hold up but its new and looks so nice.

awesome....with a Crocket20 cameo!
Not sure how I missed this one. It looks like a grate value!

I would love to see you do reviews on knives made by Condor.
This was a great video I love the editing I have to multi-task everything cause I'm crazy and I love the split screen explanation of features and showing the work being done! Why have I not found your channel before,I'm gonna learn a lot from you thanks for your great work!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
+Temple Muay Thai I second this comment. Also, it is nice because you can condense the length of the video down. Great quality work.
I got the schf 14 for the smaller job's around camp and save the f9 for the heavy stuff. Good review. Thanks !
Great job on showing how well the SCHF9 works, I was impressed .

very well made video scout!
did you also carry the byrd tern?
Good guess, but no. It's the Manix 2 lightweight.
Love the schf9. Big enough for use as a machete even. I like your showing of alternate survival usage.
Great review video, have had my SCHF9 about a year I guess. It's a beast ! Is that a Schrade SCAXE2 hanging off your side?
Yes it is, and I just posted my field review video of it. :)
Cool. .. gonna go watch it now. .
I like the SCAXE2
Last Boy Scout does a good job in his test reviews, Because I don't have a fixed blade survival knife, and I'm addicted to knife porn...
Could have broken those in my hands or over my knee. Seems like a lot of work and a great way to dull your knife.
I just stumbled onto your channel the other day. Good review.

Awesome review. New to your site. Found you from the Schrade Fb page. Thanks
Is it made of carbon steel or stainless steel?Description on Amazon makes it confusing
I'm debating getting this or the schf3n. what do you think?
I love the look of that knife I would love to have that nknife and I would use it for my job as an electrician
If you like this one, you should check out the SCHF10. Schrade fixed everything wrong with the SCHF9 when they made the SCHF10. For the money, its hard to beat the SCHF9, and now the SCHF10 is even harder to beat at only around $45.
Thanks for the tip. I'll look at that one.
Always great to see your vids!
nice review ive ordered one on the strength of it ,cant wait to get my hands on one thanks
Super tough blade. I really dig mine. Nice shemagh too.
Great video, Great Knife. Great job! Thank you for sharing!
I like the knife for the money, my sheath is a little different , no snap, velcro retention loop and the loop for the belt loop also is velcro not sown. I give the knife a good the sheath a poor.
I ordered one today, I only paid $35 though.
Got my knife in todays post!!!
WOW !!!

I Will EDC this knife
I always carry my KABAR USMC but this Will be carried Also
What good is a "survival" knife if it ISN'T ALWAYS Thérè?
Know what they say, once a Boy Scout, Always a Boy Scout
are you going to do a review of the new leatherman surge
Hi there, I am trying to decide between this and a BK 7. Do you have any thoughts either way?
I definitely like the BK 7 more. If you can handle the extra expense, go for it.
***** Thanks for the heads up
Looks like you had a great day out.
I would love to get my hands on this knife
With this and a good folder, i use the bucklite, you re good to go!
as always brother you did a nice video with a good topic and it was well done. i expect nothing less :)
A very good review of a great tool
I sharpen re-curves as well as I big wave surf.
Good review high value knife seems like ya get a lot for your money!
are those gloves cut resistant? what are they?
I got one off ebay for 30 bucks. Im pretty happy with it.
Can I buy this knife if I'm from Croatia? Can knifes be shipped overseas?
Good vid: Just ordered one now.
What kind of gloves are those?
Can you believe this knife was once as low as 27.50 free shipping... kinda crazy huh.
Lol yes it is.
i like the handle it fits great
try the new Schrade SCHF27 it is awesome
I replaced my SCHF9 by SCH27!
That is some beautiful country where do you live?
we call a blade like this BUBBA because when we need a sharp knife to get the job done this is what we turn to.for any season this is the knife i would use as a EDC .when we go fishing/hunting/camping. this would be a great go to knife.good luck everyone, may god bless

Thanks Boy Scout, thought I was done buying knives, but noooooooooooo….. Arg...
how did it baton?
same gloves and knife! double like!
Nice "intro" survival knife - good price point1
One of the true test is batoning wood…and having the knife not fall apart while doing the process…
I actually skipped that. Looking at the thickness of the stock and the geometry of the blade, there's no question that it will baton just fine.
cool knife
Great review
No one notices that it's basically a Budget clone Benchmade Marc Lee Glory Knife!? Not a bad thing, but just wanted to point it out.
I think it will serve me just fine on my hunting and camping trips...:)
The gloves appear to be CLC work Gear.
This would be an awesome gift to my boyfriend!!!
Great review and demo.
Is it legal in Australia
Doubtful.

That blade looked THICK. 1095 for 45 bucks, what's not to like? Well... :)
Glock fm 78 vs schrade SCHF9 ?
Glock looks like a combat knife, the Schrade is a bush craft knife. If you need to kill a terrorist use the Glock, but if you need to survive then the Schrade. Your not doing a lot of chopping with that Glock.
Made by Taylor brand "schrade" .
Schrade used to make some really good knives until they started being manufatured in countries other than the U.S.
Oooooo we got a racist in hear uma snap my fingures
Kangaroo Flipz, you are about an idiot.
it is a wee beastie
pain in the ass to sharpen because of the curved blade
