    Keep it simple.thats my motto, high efficiency means problems down the road. Newer parts aren't time tested, 007 basic circ,reliable and easy ,all the ecm motors are trouble. Ur absolutely right in ur way of thinking, I think the same. Appreciate your videos, have been a sub from the beginning.

    New Yorker boiler was a damn good company that made good boilers they were from Comar Pennsylvania on rt 309. They are now owned by Burnham boiler Lancaster PA that is basically a burnham MPO boiler. I agree about the circulator should just put on a standard 007 taco circ. I have had problems with that style circulator that is on the boiler also when I see Overhead fuel line always recommend Tiger loop ultra to prevent problems,,, pay me now or pay me later

    I’ve been away from the north for so long I never saw one of the mini pumps. For sure know about the buckets of rust flushed out of old systems. Your s good man. It’s A/C down in Florida we live for. I’m retired and not long to his life (ugh). Might fly you down after this craziness lol. Be worth not getting ripped off.

    I get suspicious when I find multiple service tags from reputable companies, I find it’s a indicator of a difficult customer. That style New Yorker is a Burnham MPO. I won’t service a overhead oil line unit unless we put on a Tiger loop.

      Other than poor fittings or joints pulling air under negative pressure, Henry's law can also be a real pain in the butt for overhead oil line installations .

    140 gallon tank perfect for the people who order 100 gallons at the time NO MATTER WHAT. Had a customer who had a old house with a old boiler and was year round use. 18-20 deliveries a year 100 gallons each.

  • @shupe1907
    @shupe1907 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why would someone get a half sized tank as such? When you think about it most places want a minimum 100 gallon delivery which can be done, but still requires many more deliveries in the heating season. It looks barely used so it may be a backup to wood or pellet stove?

    • @mike7599
      @mike7599 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      if you can’t fit a full size tank down the stairs. But typically if that’s the case we will twin two of these together.

    Hey Steve I had my New Yorker burner serviced , on the front of the combustion chamber the insulation fell off, and now lies in the bottom of chamber, this guy tried to charge 1700$ too install or repair it, i priced a combustion chamber kit, at $250, my question is it worth it to get it repaired? Runs at 85% efficiency, can’t afford a new furnace. Perplexed here. Help ! I feel you can provide the best advice.

    Hello Steve, i service my Ny151 old furnace, and i wonder the furnace telling me use 1,10/1.35 (B) 60/80 nozzle,( Beckett burner) but when i go to buy Nozzle telling me i could use 10/80 W 60/80 nozzle, and i get more soot then i should , what do you think ?I live in Canada, cold place. What nozzle should i use, i think myself B is better then W.

  • @williegillie5712
    @williegillie5712 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hard to imagine a furnace that new giving the guy trouble. As long as he keeps the filters clean and have the nozzle changed at regular intervals he should be good to go. I’ll bet he has to fill that 149 gal tank quite often

    Love the videos steve. Learn alot from you. Im a service tech. Dont see much boilers in my area. Just gas and heat pumps/ heat strips. But wanted to ask on the beckett burners i see you jump out the burner to just run the pump while bleeding. Are you jumping out the t t3. I see sometimes you jump f to f. I usually just hit the button while bleeder is open until I get a good flow but seems jumping it is much easier and can run much longer to get a good bleed on it. Thank you. Keep up the great videos

    Not sure I agree on the filter policy, if it had a hole in it from being too old it might still have good flow but not filter any longer. Of course wouldn't be the case on this unit being so new.

    I know replacing a nozzle is faster but can those be cleaned?

    • @webbac8491
      @webbac8491 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The nozzle's orifice is precision engineered and it could be altered/damaged through cleaning. Nozzles are only a few bucks, so I change them rather than attempt to clean them.

    Rule of thumb for the "subscriber", you have an old ass house that is plasterboard, a tiny strip of foil and then cinderblock for your walls?..... go with a single stage 80, unless you're planning on remodeling your entire home and redoing the walls and properly insulating.

    You can’t call it a good cleaning if you don’t use a combustion analyzer in the flue or check the heat exchanger for build up. Flue being clean doesn’t mean crap.
