But utimately it helped rick and damaged hans. Hans didnt want to battle. And rick only wanted to battle because he felt he could bully Hans. Rick is obviously a much sharper mind.
I think the main reason for the hate towards Hans is that it seems like he stopped trying... He should be able to come up with at least a decent set every week, he aint working a 9-5 like everyone else. It was the punching down after winning that soured me. It was a real revealing moment and not something that can be excused away. All pressure was off.
So all this time what I have been learning about comedy is you have to have a thick skin to survive in the business. Hans Kim is one example of how that is not the case at all. The way he's handling the whole Rick Diez situation speaks to how fragile his ego is. Rick has been nothing but humble about it off stage. Hans is still reeling from the whole thing and has taken it personally instead taking it on the chin. It also speaks volumes to me that he wasn't at all willing to give Rick his due credit. Rick was right about wanting to leave an impact and he sure has.
So damn true. It’s not his performances that made me lose respect, it was the weak and entitled brat he exposed himself for - on stage and during interviews off stage.
Hans showed his true self, going as far as having rick removed from other shows leading up to the competition. Its almost worse that all these other comedians allow someone like him to stick around
Your fired if you cant beat me at your job that you've been fight to get for the last 10 years and can easily be taken away. See how that would piss off literally anyone? No imagine it's all put out public so now anyone who hites you will immediately think your second rate and will directly affect your pay. There's a dozen reasons why creators (especially comedians) don't do this. It's his livelihood. The only way he can make money.
@nottomclancy2439 i not really he has over a million fans and is still growing. It's very common for comedians to go decades doing stand-up and still never making it. He's genuinely talented and is getting hate because someone else compared their success to his own for no reason other than to build their own terrible career and ric literally acts mentally handicap no reason. Nothing's wrong with him, but once he's on stage, he acts special needs, and a part of me feels like he does it on purpose to get sympathy views. Also, it feels like none of the KT comedians really like him. Like he's permanently put a strain and competitive edge on something that was given as an opportunity to people who are funny. Good breakdown. At the end of the day Tony’s behavior created this situation for both these gentlemen. And then they get propped up from rogan, and flying in private jets...yeah you lose touch. And kill tony has a habit of pushing it regulars up into the stratosphere before they’ve put on their space suits.
It's fascinating now with comedy - comedy podcasts and stand up are everywhere. I think its amazing the notion of laughs per minute as a metric. Kill Tony has only about a minute to catch your attention or else you get dunked on. Katt Williams talked about studying laughs per minute as he came up. And Katt does have dense laughs per minute with the Pimp Chronicles. This Rick calculating laughs per minute. I bet Hans does not but makes sure to write every day.
And he lost his Golden Ticket anyway :( One day Rick will take over! The hardest part of their final battle for me was when Rick was telling Hans he loved and respected him Hans just layed into him.
Dunning Kruger effect …… when Tony gave Hans a special place as a regular due to cancel culture coming after him , it gave Hans the assumption he was one of the greats . Notice Hans bombs more on his minutes than any other regular before him . Statistically, Hans has been the worse regular and should be put to the test until he becomes an actual comedian .
I feel like this is an issue when business becomes as big as competition. When the stakes are high but the value is low, competition hits its peak because the not as big a risk if it goes either way. But when business starts to get high, one wrong move in the company/organization could make a serious impact for income/future endeavors. Kill Tony isn’t just a comedy show, they’re trying to build careers for future comedians, and I guess they saw Ric as removing Hans off of his platform and potentially sending is career into obscurity vs. someone they can just build up at a later date. It’s not just Kill Tony, I see it in the UFC and similar organizations as well. What’s unfortunate is that it essentially disses anyone who was paying to see a fair competition, they were the ones that were really frauded. If you’re going to make something competitive, you have to be okay with both outcomes, and I guess Kill Tony wasn’t ready for Ric to beat Hans. I don’t know, I’m drunk so if this is nonsense to read, than don’t judge lol. I don’t even really watch Kill Tony because I think it’s a hacky haphazard way of trying to make new comedians that is in no way similar to how these comedians who made the show got big in the first place, it’s just a roast imo. Edit: one other thing about being a new comedian, which I know that Hans isn’t, but old comics only had the room they were in to judge their set, not ALL of social media. I can see how detrimental that could be to someone trying to start out, especially when you have to consider just how much you have to get used to having thick skin. Hell, it’s why 90% of us wouldn’t dare to go on stage in the first place. Social media only makes this exponentially more difficult unless you have “golden sets”.

So, the rivalry is a bigger reason he's disliked than people just generally not laughing at his jokes, huh? Stellar analysis.
I think the main reason for the hate towards Hans is that it seems like he stopped trying... I understand he has to write a new minute every week and thats no easy feat but the dude is on the KT payroll and its not like he is on the road 24/7. He should be able to come up with at least a decent set every week, he aint working a 9-5 like everyone else. Look at William, I know he has been doing it much longer but that dude is super consistent. Not every joke lands but imo he has at least 1 really good joke every week. If theres a boring guest I will sometimes skip to the end of the episode just to watch William cuz I know theres a good chance its gunna be good. I dont see Hans that way at all.

Idk how u guys can stand William Montgomery everything from his voice demeanor and face is completely off putting and unbearable. How is he funny? Because he screams or yells loud? What makes him funnier than Hans?
I agreed I thought Hans was really good early. I think that is because he probably burning minutes while he hadn't generating more jokes. Now like you said it seems like he almost doesn't give a fuck because he knows his "honorary position" on KT is suppose to highlight a next an upcoming comic until they lose to another comic. I thought the same thing. When he mentioned his Golden Parachute everything made sense. The fact that he thinks he can make a living as a comic into his late fifties is maybe the funniest thing he’s ever said.
It was the punching down after winning that soured me. It was a real revealing moment and not something that can be excused away. All pressure was off.
Same
So all this time what I have been learning about comedy is you have to have a thick skin to survive in the business.
100 percent. Hans played himself.
9:55 i’ve never seen a ric diez set longer than a minute but bro, you couldn’t pay me to see a full Hans set😭

No imagine it's all put out public so now anyone who hites you will immediately think your second rate and will directly affect your pay. @@kingbeelzebub If this is the only way he can make money, he better get some other skills...
David Lucas had a similar moment like Shane not being able to express what they really thought about the set.

I love his material his jokes are awesome. The one about the man reading a book in Arabic. He was relieved to see him fold the corner and close the book. It means he has future plans. Because he was nervous dude was a terrorist that was gonna blow up the plane.
@@Branden-vl9sl😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 YOOOOOOOO
Imagine not even knowing someone exists but yet every time you go out to speak in public you bringing up my name.
Hans is only funny till Bobbi Lee moves to Austin.
This town’s only big enough for one Korean
Everyone and their mom has a podcast
The podcast gold rush will dry up soon
Hans Kim is a reminder to me as an Asian Male, we’re absolute losers in the dating market. And yes, I was that Asian dude in the crowd who keeps yelling “F Hans Kim”
Tony and Redban have favorites and most of those if not all have to pass the kiss my ass test. They pick which comic guests they dont like and sht on them hard, doesnt matter how funny they are.
Rick is just grown up Scott The Woz
What the hell is the point of Redban? He went from doing a poor job at JRE to doing… what exactly?
as a new fan of kill tony, which i assume im not the only one at the turn of 2022-2023. i am far more invested of the rise of rick diez than hans who was just already there not knowing how he got there. but for rick, i saw his first minute that got him his golden ticket, probably one of my favorite kill tony moments. ricks style of self deprecation and making fun of himself is far more wholesome and endearing to hear than hans same ol dry cocky humor
bro he is insecure and has fear of loosing his life. its normal to act like that. if i inv a guy into my safeplace. THEN he wants my job. he wants my food on the table. its like a dead sentence he is attacking his life. i am not a hans fan but i can feel his emotions
Ric comes off like one of those scientists the Nazis made work for them during WW2.
Tbf No one had a chance to take Hans spot until he started slacking off. William and Kam were having good sets so it wouldn’t really make sense for Ric to challenge other regulars since Tony was setting up challenges only for Hans. Hans should only be mad at himself for writing shit jokes consistently
For the last year any and all of Han's jokes have to do with
-Sex
-Race
-Nationality
They're so lazy
That’s 99% of standup
@@shotgunsam23 maybe if you listen to garbage lmao
My favorite part is when Hans is saying that Rick is a two-dimensional character 😂😂😂😂😂😂 like okay sure buddy
This is the guy that joe Rogan would say MURDEREDDDDD all the time?
Ric did it all for entertainment and it was an amazing part of the show. Fans knew hans lost and would have been ok that he was gifted the win had he not acted the way he did.
Nah, you cant shi* all over someone whose been hosting you and tryna take their job. Thats wild AF. He shoulda played it cooler though for sure. Shane dissing him kinda stuck.
Rick looks like stephen hawking got bit by a radioactive spider
Adam Ray's Dr Phil Impression was the only good thing I saw on this show.
