Glad you enjoyed that! It surprised me too one day I looked up and saw 425's old tender go past my office window. Glad I was able to get out to catch it before they moved it to the Cressona yard.
AWESOME JAMIE!!!!!!!!!!!! i am not gonna lie, got emotional seeing the 425A tender! so many memories of going to Jim Thorpe and seeing that tender there! All the other clips are spot on! you do know how much i love the roundups! Frac sand trains!!!! i really need to see one hahaha, Great video Jamie!!! Scott
Thanks, Scott, so glad you enjoyed it!! I was really surprised one day when I looked up and saw the 425A tender go past my office window. Glad I was able to get out to catch it before they moved it to the Cressona rail yard. Hope you get to catch a frac sand train soon, they're a lot of fun!
Hi Jamie, Thanks for another terrific video. You really did some moving around in June! I particularly enjoyed seeing the 2102 ferry move across the turntable in Port Clinton. Also cool to see the NS H66 clip at Old Penn Haven - lucky daytime catch!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I was thrilled to catch the H66 at Old Penn Haven, wished for that to happen for MANY years! It has been a lot of fun getting to a lot of places in the RBMN network lately. Got some other new locations coming in July's roundup.
Railroading and railfan adventures are alive and well in PA...between Reading & Norther with the restored 2102, with ever strong activities at Strasburg and the wonderful museum collection there, and the amazing, amazing comeback of EBT, getting steam locos restored, trackwork including restoring trackage that haven't been used in over 40 years, and of course the amazing restorations of the buildings and shops at EBT and then there is the beautiful collection of streetcars at the Rock Hill Trolley museum and their ongoing amazing restoration work. Even the Everett Railroad in Holidaysburg, near Altoona is running their steam locomotive a few times a year!
In regards to 425A, While it is doubtless a former tender. When converted to provide just extra water. They are variously called Aux Tenders, Aux Water Cars, or the term "Canteen" is used.
Doesn't NS run any freights north of Old Penn Haven onto R&N toward White Haven and Dupont anymore? They used to. They had a freight from Allentown to Binghamton, NY. When I rode behind the 765 on the Lehigh Gorge Special hosted by NS on August 22, 2015, there were NS diesels at Glen Summit which is R&N track. I live west of Allentown.
NS runs the H66 from Allentown to Hazelton and back on their Lehigh Line every Tuesday night, Thursday night, and Sunday during the day. They don't run on RBMN track through the gorge though.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! I'll be working my full-time railroad job the 31st, so unfortunately I can't chase or ride that day. If I knew about it sooner, I would have put in for a vacation day. I've never been to the Vosburg Tunnel, so that would have been awesome. If your riding it you'll likely see me out there for your departure though. I've been working on a striping, traffic flow, and signage project for the Nesquehoning Campus, and I'll be observing how things work out that day to incorporate into the plans.
what are they doing with aux tender 425 A jamie? i don't think thats been used for steam trips for 10 plus years now? i know it was used for years as advertising in jim thorpe. any insight on that?
Hey Jamie, quick question. Are the loaded center beams making their way to Gordon? If so how often does that occur? Great round up. Hoping to see you on the 31st but I know it's tricky for you to pull off.
Good morning, Kevin! Ah, I don't know as much about freight as I do passenger, but I think a lot of those loaded center beams go to Mariotti in Old Forge. I've seen quite a few going up there on this week's NRFF. And glad we did get to see each other on the 31st, but still a bummer I couldn't ride. I still enjoyed my afternoon's mini-chase, that'll be a standalone video.
Thanks for another great video. Always nice to see what's going on with the R&N!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
I didn’t expect to see steam action in this one! I saw 425’s old tender, 2102 steamed up, and 425’s tender.
Glad you enjoyed that! It surprised me too one day I looked up and saw 425's old tender go past my office window. Glad I was able to get out to catch it before they moved it to the Cressona yard.

Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it!
Hello Jamie, it looks like you have the best opportunity and fun filming trains .Awesome videos 😊
Thanks, glad you're enjoying my videos. I'm very fortunate to have the opportunities I do to film all these trains!

Nice job on this one Jamie. You had a wide variety in it, so it kept my interest throughout. Loved it.
Thanks so much, Del, glad you enjoyed it!

I totally agree! I'm very fortunate to live in such a great area for railroading - both past and present.
Great mixture of catches! Really enjoyed this one jamie!
Thanks so much, Ian!
Thanks for taking the time and effort to make these. I look forward to them.
You're welcome! And I'm glad you enjoy them!
Thanks Jamie!
Glad you enjoyed it, Henry!
Another great video!!!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Good morning Jamie! Very well done friend. I love these blue skies. Some of these shots look like you could be out in Arizona. 25:38
Thanks so much Dennis! We had some beautiful weather in June before the heat wave hit.
Awesome video Jamie
Thanks Marilyn!
Nice video Jamie, and one question is where will the old auxiliary tender of the RB&MN 425 go?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! They moved the aux tender to the Cressona Rail Yard. I don't know their long term plans for it.
New Subsriber. I really liked what I saw..
Thanks, and welcome!
"... he's gonna highball in the yard ..."
Thanks Marilyn!

Great video Jamie! Question - will you be chasing/riding the Anthracite RDC Ramble out of Nesquehoning on July 31st?

Hey there Blake!
Where will 425’s old aux tender go off to?
They moved it to the Cressona Rail Yard. I don't know their long term plans for it.
HEY! Theres something missing..........i didnt hear one flat wheel on any of those trains! What gives on that🤔?
I was checking out info on the C N J and found out thar the R & N operates a remnant of it!!!!
Yes we do! The Jim Thorpe Station was a CNJ station originally built in 1888 as well.
Reding & Northern should rebrand it's self as The Biggest Little Shirt Line in the East.

I believe you meant "short line" but that's an awesome idea.
