I have the Big Agnes bike pack tent. It doesn't take any longer to set up. It packs smaller than my old backpacking tent and it's actually larger unpacked. I love it. Best camping investment I've made aside from going down sleeping bag.
While you were talking about cows as food urns, I had to go listen to my copy of Godley & Crème’s album Freeze Frame, containing the cut “I Pity Inanimate Objects”. “The fewer the moving parts, the less there is to go wrong… I care about these things”. You might like the guitar distortion, it’s kind of hard to take.
You really need to talk to Ben @MotoCampNerd, he’s a super dude. I’d just about bet he’d let you set up a bike-pack Big Agnes tent in the shop. He laid out 4-5 air mattresses for me to tryout the last time I rode up there. I may have even mentioned you as I spent a couple of hours there talking with him. Well worth the 3 hour ride up to Archdale NC for me. Excellent video Ang!
Since this trip, I have talked to Ben. You're right - he is a super dude. In fact, he just emailed me a few days ago after Helene asking what I needed. Can't wait to get down there to see his shop...

Great video series. Always looking forward to future episodes, although I did previously enjoy this ride in ADVrider. I know what you mean about the campsites, but trying to sell that? I remember hearing how the guy was trying to profit from the Trans American Trail that all the tedious & hard work that was given unselfishly to the rest of us! You seem like a cool person; don't be that guy to undermine that.
I use the Big Agnes Fly Creek bike pack, it's one of the most simple tents to put up I've ever owned. Weighs nearly nothing and the poles are small but still all together. My grandfather said "Oi" when we was in a bad spot, and he was my hero. Cultural Appropriation can kick rocks. Good stuff man! Hope all is well in Asheville. I'm close if I can do anything. Don't hesitate to holler.
@SomeGuyRides somewhat. Mostly trees down on utility lines and just a bit of flooding. No power for 7 days. Went off Friday morning around 2am and came back on last Friday about 930pm. Blessed to not get hit too bad. I'll be cleaning up downed trees for months, but not too bad.
Dude. Dude... Just tuning in. Already wanted to send my thoughts for the devastation in Asheville, have spent a lot of time there and cannot imagine... And then heard (read) of Primrose's passing. So sorry. Losing a pup is the worst. Hits very close to home. Not to mention that although he's about 75 pounds and a tall one, my blue boy Ruckus is the spitting image -- white bib and paws and all. Could have been from the same litter, by appearances. My deepest condolences brother. (As entertaining a heartfelt eulogy as I've ever read, or will read.) And now to watch the show...
