I didn't realise this rod was very slim for tough rod that can land a skate or sharks

It is. I can barely bend it with a 7oz lead weight withan off the ground cast.

@@x3mgrifterincredible !! that rod would be perfect for usa fishing for sharks 6 to 8 foot range. i heard from other anglers that this ron thompson axe was tested against bronze whaler sharks in angloa and Namibia.

I can't comment of whaler sharks as I know next to nothing about them. But I am guessing this rod will be perfect for black tip shark fishing from the shore 😁

@@x3mgrifter I was speaking fishing Angler base in his store Cornwall known fishing mayhem, he state this used in South Africa and caught bronze whaler sharks in year 2004 to 2006. It can pull 200lb skate with ease, I said definitely it would go after medium large size sharks

@@andersonreid6845 I'm in Australia, I've landed sharks to 3m, huge rays, plenty of fish.
I'd love to get another of these rods. I use slosh20,50 torium30 and trinnidad30dc with the rod, depending on what i feel like catching.

As much as I love this rod, I personally think it's too stiff for Chesil. I believe the Akios Fury FX420 with the original tip plus another Fury FX420 with the heavier tip are the best combo for a dual rod set up. Really lightweight (perfect for climbing up the shingles), stiff enough for really casting it out, yet the tips are really sensitive enough to see small nibbles.
