Saw her years ago at the Coca Cola stage during the Stampede, one of the loudest shows I've ever heard. People were just glued to the wall from all the power. Unforgettable Evening Fantastic is an understatement.
This is still my favorite song of all time.. Like 14 years now.. 14 years its been stimulating my ears.. and every time. I bought this cd at least four times and saw this lady in concert.. One of the few people I'd pay too see... and she's from winnipeg... lol.. she's also part native.. it is a near tie with 3 other songs.. but this one gets the extra point
I know there isn't much good music to play nowadays but much music needs to go back to playing music videos all day and get rid of these teenage drama t.v. shows. They should put all the t.v. shows on another station and keep all the music videos on the other.
The first time I seen Holly? Was at the 1998 Edgefest festival along with other great acts Matthew good band, The Tea Party , Greenday and many others, but she and her crack band put on a very good set that it was mentioned in the review the next day and I also bought her fine album "Stuff"❤😎👍
@ryanvrecic6181 Yeah, I've been to many festivals and the Edgefest one was a great mix of talented bands of the era , many that I became fans of that day❤️😎👍
+redwaller66 Same here, heard it on the radio and was like damn this sounds like something from years ago. Turned out I was right lol. Either way it's a killer fucking song.
Did y’all know her old Jack Russels dog was named Elmo? His ass was on the cover of her first record. I was a music store manager (remember them!) at the time so was invited to the release in Vancouver...must be 95? SHE FUCKING ROCKED IT! Still does. Got to say a quick hi that’s it tho. She was so cool, a small club with,,,maybe 250 people? 300? Numb is so good
Holly, your best song. I'd love hear about the insperation of this song, but then again... Great power, visual and sonic. A wholly fat WOW from me. Cudos to the director. EVEN more Cudos to the artistic director!!
at thethinneralbum, lol, the same thing happened to me in kelowna, lol, too funny just goes to show how real she is, too bad there werent more women artists like her out there, i just adore her
I dont understand people that keep sayin " still listening to this track in 2012"... music doesnt fade away, if it was good, how can it be bad later on?
Some music has to be left in the past, because we associate it with a certain time we don't want to go back to. Either it was a spiritual crutch for us in a bad time, or, it reminds us too much of good times that it makes us sad to hear it again.
'Pine oh cool' so why knot carve dolls with hard wood. Like here in British Columbia we also have arbutus trees. I myself this man here, sent Gepetto, with a carve and buffed green stone very far away... and i think to the swamps he has gone to find these stones. ...well where do they come from anyhow.?
Brilliant video aside from the censoring shit... You have to stop that VEVO or put a fuckin disclaimer on vids.. I cant defend this shit..really You have to wake up if you are paying attention I'm pretty sure you are not
Late 90s in Winnipeg I used to hang out with Holly. I was 16 years old when she snuck me into my first bar. lol
Saw her years ago at the Coca Cola stage during the Stampede, one of the loudest shows I've ever heard. People were just glued to the wall from all the power. Unforgettable Evening Fantastic is an understatement.
I'm still thinking about Holly
Knowing that this rock & roll gem exists is one reason I’m grateful that I once dated a Canadian lady.

i agree with you bro
You have to stray from the mainstream to find anything good any year.
this song need more views
I spent nearly half the day searching for this bloody song. I'm SO happy that I finally found it!
This song has more passion in it than a years worth of today's music combined
Depends on what you listen to.
I've always loved her range...amazing bellow
I agree, I met Holly back in 99 in Whistler B.C at the longhorn, what a lady!

@ryanvrecic6181 Yeah, I've been to many festivals and the Edgefest one was a great mix of talented bands of the era , many that I became fans of that day❤️😎👍
@@MrRugbyloosehead sounds like such a blast.... I am trying to imagine, vicariously, such a scene. In any case, God Bless Canada !! Take it easy.

Hello, Coco - shout out to you and your Mom! Big fan here!
holly is your mother?
Holly, your best song. I'd love hear about the insperation of this song, but then again... Great power, visual and sonic. A wholly fat WOW from me. Cudos to the director. EVEN more Cudos to the artistic director!!
I ♥ this song so much.
she was in my head when she wrote this song!!!
great drumming on this one, makes me wanna drum
St. Elmo's fire still consumes me like napalm, hole in my head to gripe about in the public forum.

This L.P. got me thru Iraq!
Wow, that's a different story.

another killer track
I was at your concert in Burlington, ON and you were fucking perfection...
great song
I dont understand people that keep sayin " still listening to this track in 2012"... music doesnt fade away, if it was good, how can it be bad later on?
lol I mean, theres some music that was good back then but not so much now. I used to think Hanson was good.
Some music has to be left in the past, because we associate it with a certain time we don't want to go back to. Either it was a spiritual crutch for us in a bad time, or, it reminds us too much of good times that it makes us sad to hear it again.
Kids in the video are probably older now then Holly was when she did this video
Definitely correct. I met her through Matt Good. It’s my misfortune that most of our music comes from Vancouver while living on the east coast.
A reminder of relationships I fucked up
I still think about Elmo too, if I'm being honest.....
My goddess
this is so ironic i wish that someone had the album with this song to upload it in the right format.
I have the CD somewhere!
Lol 😂😂😂😂😂
When kids hear "puppet show with Elmo" I bet this isn't what comes to mind.
SuperJNG18 the puppet has been in my room for 14 years so idk? Really cool to look at though.
Where do you fit in?
I think I know the back story to this song...
.....priceless
MTV did NOT show that music video!! Too bad that "Stuff" (released in the U.S. in October of 1997) should have been big BUT did not charted.
Canadian Alt-Rock at its finest
Love it.
Namaste.
:)
Two test tickles, not one.
Anyone even get the concept of this song ??
Anyway great tune....
YES I''m old enough to use 'tune'..
flyyspit it’s about a man that worked at a place that my mom was writing with. Who was fairly old named Elmo.
@DarkAngel64 IT SURE IS!!! I understand what u mean!!
The yellow brick road leads right back to The Wiz!

blip on the f bomb! Tf? This straight from mtv?
This was posted back when Vevo had a real stick up their ass about profanity and would censor all their youtube videos.
I miss angry Holly
boo! we censored u!
the twins are my cousins Amanda and Elizabeth
the nineties had some of the best female rockers
Holly Mcnarland
Aimee Allen
Gwen Stefani
maybe im wrong i am a little drunk so that could be it
Come on, love all of them but where´s PJ Harvey? Courtney Love? Liz Phair?
And then from beautiful blue and on, she was Pop.
Why? D:
I don"t know about pop. More like a country/ folksy singer. But yeah, definitely not as good as before.
She got married and settled down a bit, had a couple of kids...
2019?
😎
Why is this in the country section?
because Canada is a country
After her first album "Stuff", she stopped doing this kind of alternative rock and went into a more countryish direction
