I do that with every video so AMEN to that.
It’s so interesting to me that slow living has become an esthetic. I have lived “slowly” my entire life. Even as a child I was always behind everyone else studying an insect or marveling over the many ways that our Creator came up with for plants to spread their seeds. I can remember always “needing” to be hurried along. And as an adult I am the same. I have a much harder time breaking away from the moments that I’m in than I have ever had slowing down to smell the roses. I’ve done many things in my life. I know how to hurry when I have to. But I am always happier being in the moments. I am so happy to know that there are others out here lingering with me now! I am so happy to know that there are some who would rather study with me than yell to hurry me along!
And I have lived my whole life on speed dial. I find myself hurrying to get somewhere and thinking, " why am i in a hurry?" I don't have to be there at any certain time. My question is: how do I begin to slow down in my work life and personal life? I feel as if I must get things accomplished fast and furious. I don't like this.
I believe it would be good for you to reflect where the hurry came from. Have you grown up that way? How did your parents role model and raise you? Do you feel guilty if you do not achieve something? Have you learned to rest in the presence of the Lord? To meditate on psalm 23 that Lea read is a good start. I am slow to nature and a Ferdinand who likes to smell the flowers , but as I came in to adulthood and workplaces I pushed myself until I was burned out. Now I have to learn to live slow/intentional again.
Thank you at 65 that's where I am at, I was always like you yet the world kept rushing me along. Had to live hard on dairy farm and 40 yrs on nursing floor disciplined myself to keep up but quiet moments were peaceful and refreshing. Finally bought 1 acre mobile home in hills of Mo Ozarks. Hope to get 2 kittens soon for company

My husband and I recently did a little home Bible study together using this book: “A Shepherd Looks at the 23rd Psalm” by Phillip Keller. It was written in 1970. I think you’d enjoy it! It really explains each part of the Psalm and how it relates to Jesus role with us, His flock.

I really enjoyed this and it’s just what I needed. I am in the midst of transitioning to a slow living lifestyle. I think about how we lived when I was a child before smartphones etc. it was a simpler time. I want to be more mindful and enjoy simplicity. Thank you and I hope you provide more on slow living for those of us who are working our way there. It’s not as easy as it may seem especially after a lifetime of having a performance focused work ethic. I am newly retired but working part time with a more relaxing type of job. Would love more tips on slowing down. Your lifestyle is my dream 😊. Thank you 🙏

Oh, Leah! I had a white hobnail lamb just like that. But in my foolishness, years ago, I got rid of it. I think my mother has it right now, but I regret so much that I got rid of those little touches of beauty. I still have some and I am learning to add them back into my home. I am not sure I understand what the terms "intentional living" and "slow living" mean. Could you explain?
