Your knowledge of the history of hip hop is what makes you the best reactor on this entire platform 👏🏽 it's not just the breakdowns, it's the history you bring to the table. This was an awesome one 🎉
I also love the way Kendrick doesn't shy away from his Em influence. At the end of the verse you can tell he was using Eminem's listing impossibilities scheme 😮 You'd have to ALL of these things to beat me lol. 😂 Go Kendrick one of the Goats
@@krysis7 also in multiple interviews he said he has em as a bar and he studied his albums so the possibility og it being inspired by em is not that hard to think
I found your videos about a week ago and I have just about binge watched almost every single one of your reactions! Your breakdown skills are amazing and you are a real talent and I hope you achieve everything you want to!
I’ve always used music to get through a lot of tough times in my life and I really pay attention to the lyrics and that’s why I love watching your breakdowns of songs that I like because you understand things on a deeper level than I do and your knowledge of hip-hop is amazing And it makes me just want to listen to more of it!
@@sarasweightlossjourney1432 The line is “I don’t smoke crack, m***********, I sell it,” obviously alluding to the saying in drug culture “don’t smoke your product” but in this case, his product isn’t drugs, it’s music. To bring it full circle, he is saying that he doesn’t consume product, he only sells. Therefore, he isn’t interesting in listening to music, he’s only interested in selling it and, all the while, insinuating that his music is as addictive and potent as crack.
Knox I love how you are giving Kurupt shout outs left and right these days. I've been saying that Kurupt so rarely gets any flowers today, never mentioned in lists, reacted to, etc. Despite the fact he's like one of the best pure spitters of all time. Hopefully we can get some Kurupt reactions? Show these kids what's what.
That wasn't a diss bro....Just a challenge. Like friendly competition but some took it personal. He was just saying y'all my friends but on a song, I'ma kill y'all
Sean Connery line “ you put one of mine in the hospital .. I put one of yours in the morgue “ The Untouchables. One more part of the line to go with the 007 shit. Keep it up. Great work.
Sean's verse is so slept on it's so sad you didn't do the whole song but I hope you do it sometime. Great video as always Knox keep up the grind and also congrats on your new song it's 🔥
I think a lot of people know the history of it so they don’t rate it as much because Sean himself said Kendrick murdered him on it. Like he almost didn’t release the song for that reason. I give him props for swallowing his pride though and putting it out, but he was third best on his song.
Not enough people understand when it comes to real artists being listed on one of these disses isn’t offensive in anyway in fact I’d argue it’s a badge of honor. It reminds me of Eminem’s diss a couple years ago when he mentioned a list of artists and on that list was Hopsin. If you haven’t seen it, look up Hopsin’s reaction to hearing Eminem mention him on a “diss” track. He freaks out screaming “EMINIEM KNOWS WHO I AM?!? Oh shit, I need to call my mum” tbh it’s a very wholesome and beautiful moment. In some ways I want all the artists I listen to, to think they’re the best in the game. That’s the way rappers eat and the reason the greats are where they are
Hi. I didn't know Wale was from PG County, too! I'm from Montgomery County, and I know some music from Wale, but I hadn't looked him up to know he's from PG as well! I always love your breakdowns and reactions to music, this is no exception.
You are a God damned scholar. I would like to know if you are academically educated or is this brilliant mind learned from the streets? dude you are versatile AF. hats off and all the accolades to you. i have enjoyed every video you put out. You have a gift to dissect these songs and other videos to us who do not speak English as they native language. I wish you all the best.
9:50 could there be not one more flip to the Elvis bar saying "its not for your parents" he makes the reference to Em again and he has the famous line "your parents still listen to Elvis" maybe I'm reaching though
The universe is aligning so heavy, I revisited the Control verse and felt that it should it be revisited by people especially with the recent news. I truly believe MOST of this verse is Directed at Drake, especially with how he say DRAKE, the tone has intention. I thought of making this request to you and you already covered it. Still havent watched the video but will make edits! Edits: I am not going to make any edits because its alot but I think Know should revisit because there is alot to unpack and I aint trying to write all that. Lol
I’m absolutely loving you breakdowns man! You really go deeeep. And makes me realise somethings that I haven’t even realised that were there. Just some advice; why don’t you listen to the song first then 2nd time over break it down in depth ? The only reason why I say this is because your reactions are dope! and then the stop start all the time it’s like I want you to carry it on
This was one of those tracks that the hip hop world kind of stopped for a moment when it released, would have been crazy to see reaction channels back when this came out
Okay... now something that, dunno if it could fit with that Decepticons reference, but there's an NZ rapper from the 2000s called Savage and I think he was linked to a rap group called the decepticons. Now I dunno if Kendrick had made that as a reference to Savage but anyway figured I'd mention it.
Yeah to me this just sounds like before a boxing match when they touch gloves and be like May the best man win. During the fight it looks like they trying to kill each other but after the KO/TKO you hold they glove up and admit they won.
I will be honest, I never really dug Kendrick. I know he's massively talented, but he just never really clicked with me. But I'll say it all day long, he's the direction I wish rap culture would be going, rather than the popularization of mumble rap. And I still remember when his Control verse dropped, every reactor was talking about it.
Like on the song “I can see you” when it’s says we kept everything professional….cant do that, desire is too strong. If I see you I either will be straight speechless or handcuffing myself to y
I'd like to try listening and reacting to This is War 5 by FalconShield. League of Legends based rap song and FalconShield has been making them for 8 to 9 years now lol
This verse is great. The track was dope. But the Black Friday project with J Cole, that was special. Also, we need more wicked love for some other lesser known lyricists like Aesop Rock. Or other pivotal moments in hip hop like TIP making it big with out some of the support of the coasts. Or Cash Money era Weezy. Shoot. Hip hop history break downs. I’m so down for that.
I know it’s not your wheelhouse, but I really feel like “I’m dressed in all black” is a nod to Johnny Cash and no one else is seeing it, so I would LOVE if you would react to Cash’s live performance of “The Man in Black” and then let me know if I’m reaching. But Johnny Cash was known as the man in black and explains in the song that he wears all black in solidarity with the downtrodden. He was a rebel - basically the people’s champ of country music - and spoke out on a lot of issues, including mass incarceration, oppression of native Americans, the war on drugs, Vietnam, etc., and even played free concerts in prisons. So it definitely fits Kendrick’s scheme and logic. I just don’t know why no one else is seeing it and it’s driving me crazy 😂
any jid reaction coming soon? im talking about the forever story since you only reacted to dance now, there are a lot of songs there that need a reaction from you :3

I semi agree but Kendrick being from LA I know he’s a fan of Suga Free and E-40 who both do this too. He did name Em in the track tho.

11 years later and your breakdown just rejuvenated this classic. Great react!
And then came Like That, a few weeks later.
That “I don’t smoke crack” line could also be interpreted as “I don’t listen to your music”
Please explain that interpretation

A Kendrick breakdown is a W in my books. You should breakdown The Heart Part 4 and the OG version of Element.

From your words to God's ears!
CLASSIC KENDRICK!!!!!
That "I'm dressed in all black, this is not for the fan of Elvis" is a triple. He's in all black, referring to Elvis' famous all white jump suit.
💯
could also be referencing Johnny Cash, "The Man In Black," saying Cash was a real one and Elvis wasn't
Great job breaking the bars. You make me understand what Kendrick is say and doing in his music
King Los reply is insane. Kendrick said in a interview he thought his was the best reply
