Like many minerals, manganese (MN) is a cofactor for many enzymes. One, in particular, is superoxide dismutase (SOD), which is a part of your body’s antioxidant defense system. Thus, MN is needed to help SOD neutralize free radicals, reduce inflammation, and prevent oxidative stress. Without it, the aging process speeds up and increases your risk for disease.
Other enzymes that manganese supports are involved in a variety of vital functions, which include:
    Energy production
    Cholesterol metabolism
    Growth and development
    Immune response
    Digestion
    Reproduction
    Bone and connective tissue growth
    Brain development
    Blood clotting
    Nervous system signaling
So while your body only needs trace amounts of MN to support all these functions, a deficiency can have serious consequences.

Nutrient deficiency is rampant now in our western medicine laden society. I was just talking about this with my neighbor. Sadly, she is on a multitude of prescription drugs, and has been for too long. It’s all she knows and understands..which makes big Pharma happy.

    Excellent Presentation!
    I agree going ORGANIC!
    We as humans are
Striving ourselves with How we deal with weeds. As eating more. But Not receiving the proper nutrition that we used to get before!

I’m sure someone else has mentioned it but just in case, roundup is not an insecticide. It’s a herbicide.

Thank you, I know or think this is what they did even with humans and manganese. I am now by G-5( smart phone) in a way is good, but too much of it it changes the body temperature? I think, thank you.

Sir why I react to manganese. Even with 1mg I feel heavy headed and I have trouble sleeping.

I’m having trouble to sleep as well, that because I drink 400g of Chards everyday, I don’t know if it’s the Manganese maybe it’s something else… I feel energetic and more focused everyday, it feels like coffee.

one thing I would add to this conversation is the redox potential of the form of Manganese that is in the soil will dictate its quantification of embodiment into the biomass of the plant. manganese and Iron are not utilized by plants when they are in the oxidized forms. Oxidized soils are not conducive to the facilitation of its embodiment and this is very common in soil where tillage is used but we do see insecticides and other things that kill biology contributing simply because the embodied manganese oxidizes. Other things can also contribute to oxidation of Manganese and its unavailability but I think you have pointed out one of the most important! I really enjoyed this video and love your content! Especially the white paper on manganese's role in carbon retention .. new fodder for regenerative stewardship! hahahaha I am a monster of a student of Matt Powers; the permaculture student and I want to unite the 2 of you and then perhaps introduce the 2 of you in a presentation to the public via zoom recording if I possibly could ... I have put together a great network of people and there is no more competent of a person that I would like to have on my team than you my man! I love everything you're doing and I have to work with you or I'll never forgive myself !
