- This place is a pure nostalgia bucket for me. Having grown up in the area, I was the target audience for this location when it opened up in the mid-80's as a Showbiz Pizza Place. School classmates would frequently have their birthday parties here. I have fond memories of playing old school video games like Donkey Kong, Jungle Hunt, Zaxxon, and Marble Madness back here, rolling around in the ballpit, and eating pizza in the theater while watching the Rock-A-Fire Explosion do their thing.
But as time went on, I aged out of the Showbiz target market. I'd spend more time across the way at the Time-Out arcade in the Lehigh Valley Mall as fighting and racing games became more and more popular. And at some point, the Showbiz changed over to a Chuck E. Cheese location. It wasn't until this past year that I once again stepped foot into this place, and although the building remains the same, the interior is completely different. They actually have a pretty good mix of games for the younger set here, but as expected, it's almost all redemption games. Surprisingly they even have a few coin pushers, something that just doesn't happen at the New Jersey CEC locations due to their specific laws on amusement machines. Needless to say, you really can't go back again, at least not when we're talking about corporate-owned-and-operated arcades in the 2020's.
