He Alan ( can’t remember his surname - bear with me) was a great friend of Garbo. She would visit him in his converted church to enjoy the peace and quiet his retreat provided. When I re, Alan gave me a tour. He led me to a very small room, ‘saying ‘darling, let me show you the Garbo room.’ It was just like a like nuns cell, with just enough room to fit a single bed. At the foot of the bed was a small table with a photo of the great woman. I sat on the bed and felt I was suddenly touched by divine providence or ‘something’. WOW what a great experience, one that has not diminished with the passing of years. I am now 83 and I can still see that room and rekindle my feelings. For me it was a seminal moment for ever to be treasured. RIP Greta, Alan and Barbara
