- In today's episode I am taking three embroidered table cloths and upcycling them to make the Paper Theory Agnes shirt. I really hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.
Introduction
What I am wearing - Nina Lee Bakerloo blouse in a See You at Six fabric from @lamazifabrics8714

Thank you and goodbye
I am so in love with the embroidery placement! It turned out beautifully. I especially like that you switched the facing to embroidery as well. I bet the original embroiderer would be so happy that their art lives on
Thanks so much Lea, I hope they would be happy with my work! I am super pleased woth this one too ❤️
I don’t believe that I’ve seen a more beautiful blouse. I love how you’ve been incredibly creative making this, and giving new life and purpose to an obsolete item.
Thank you so much! That is what I love the most about this blouse is that I could give a new life to these stunning tablecloths! I really enjoy wearing this one 😊
It really suits you as well!
Brilliant x
Thank you so much 😊
Gorgeous! And Kudos to the women who spent hours and hours creating these beautiful embroidery designs!
Thank you, the embroidery is amazing! It is so lovely to be able to showcase the amazing work of the embroidery again!
Lovely work
Thank you so much, I really enjoyed making this one. 😊
I have quite a few embroidered tablecloths made by my great aunts, my grandmother, mother and myself . They have been sitting in a drawer for years. Now do I have the nerve to cut into them and make something similar to that fabulous blouse???? Not sure but your end product of that beautiful blouse is shouting go for it.
I understand the tablecloths made by family members have a different level of value! Maybe you could try with fabric that doesn't hold that same value and the see if that changes your mind 😊 sometimes it is special to keep precious items in their original state too. Tough decision!
So very pretty and I would rather see them displayed as a blouse, for everyone to enjoy. Imagine all the stories and history they have in them! Great job! Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you so much for your comment! I am so happy that I have had the chance to reuse the tables cloths and create something new and beautiful with them too.
Beautiful 😍

Wonderful result, now I want to find some tablecloth to sew as well 😀

Wow gorgeous making !
Thank you very much!
I like the flexibility of the top. Based on the style, it can be worn as a top or it can be worn as a summer jacket/blazer. Great work!
Thank you so much! I do wear it both as a shirt and a jacket. I really love wearing this one 😊
that is so beautiful. now Im on a mission to find table cloths
Thank you very much, they are so lovely to work with because of their age the fabric is such a wonderful weight. I hope you find some good ones 😊

Beautiful work.
Thank you so much 🩷
So beautiful!!!!! i lve your use of these tablecloths!!!
Thank you so much 😊
Amelia, what have you unleashed! I think I will now be obsessed finding antique table cloths. I have just finished a Donny shirt using a white linen oval scalloped edged tablecloth with embroidered olive branches bought on Mykonos in 2000. Not quite sure if any pattern pieces have the same grain, and I have a fat black olive you know where! Still, I love it and can’t wait to wear it. Thank you for your inspiration.
Your Donny shirt sounds amazing! I am obsessed with antique table cloths now too! Hope you get to make many more items that bring you joy 😊
Gorgeous and great job! The embroidery work on the tablecloths is beautiful.
Thank you very much for your comment. It is lovely to be able to show the embroidery again. I really enjoy wearing this one.

Thank you so much. It was lots of fun to make. Especially when thinking about the placement of the embroidery. I am sure you will love making one too 😊
Inspirational! I can see these popping up from Lands End to John ‘o Groats - why have I given so many to jumble sales over the years! Thank you for your vlog.
Thank you Avril! It really is a lovely item to wear.
That is so beautiful and such a wonderful way to honour the gorgeous embroidered linen.❤
Thank you so much For your comment Trudy. It really is wonderful to use something that may be discarded as it is not longer pristine and give it a new life 😊
Wow! So impressive 👏 The collar and facing work is fantastic!
Thanks so much Jyl 😊 I really enjoyed making this one.
This is beautiful!
Wow, what a great upcycling project! The embroidery on those tablecloths is stunning and I love how you’ve placed the pattern pieces to make the most out of it. Absolutely gorgeous ❤
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I am really pleased with how the shirt turned out 😊
wow the shirt is beautiful :)
Thank you so much for your comment, I really enjoyed making this one! I love to wear it too.
Wow Amelia what a wonderful make It makes me feel quite emotional to think how much work has gone into the embroidery. As sewists we can appreciate the hours this must have taken and it’s so heartwarming to see it repurposed in such a lovely way. I don’t have your skills yet but I think something like an Ogden cami may be doable. Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring us. X
Oh yes the Ogden cami would look beautiful in embroidered tablecloths! Thank you so much for your kind words. You are right the embroidery is amazing! Such talent and the time and love in every stitch too ❤️
Wow! Beautiful! Now I know what my next project is. Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh that sounds great. I would love to see it! 😊
Very pretty shirt. Nice job!
Thank you so much. I am really pleased with how it turned out 😊
That is so beautiful! It will look great as a summer jacket, over a little cami and shorts. So versatile and can be styled in lots of ways, so much more useful in our modern life than as tablecloths! That is truly the spirit of upcyling. Such an inspiring video, thank you so much!
Thank you so much for you lovely comment. I am so pleased with how this shirt turned out. I love wearing it and you are right, it is so wonderful to show case the beautiful embroidery that someone has put so much effort and time into.
this is so cute!!!😍
Thank you so much for your lovely comment 😊
It's quite lovely, but I wish you had shown us the construction and your sewing process.
Thank you very much for your kind comment. I suppose I didn't show the construction as I didn't want the clip to be too long. But I will keep that in mind for the future 😊
The shirt looks lovely on you. You must be so proud to wear it.
Thank you very much, I do love wearing this one!
🤩😍
Thank you very much 😊
Wow, your pj shirt is stunning. Beautifully executed. ❤❤
Thank you so much Cath, I am really pleased I took the time to make sure the little details came out just as I wanted 😊

Haya. Your shirt came out beautifully 🤩I like also to make things out of thrifted linen embroidered table cloths & other similar thing as well 🙂Thanku 'sew' much for sharing 🪡✂🧵🙂
Oh wow, that is great that you make upcycled clothing too. I love the linen and how something like a tablecloth that might be discarded can be given a new life.
@@ameliaellensews Yup, I have been using bed sheets, table cloths, drapes (a Von Trapp in the making 🤣) scraps, pretty much anything for many years, it is always fun to create from things other than fabric on a roll. . . on a roll 🤣🤣Have a great week 🪡✂
So pretty, love that the tablecloths have got a new lease of life. I'd like to try this out with the Sagebrush blouse pattern xx
Oooohhhhh Sagebrush blouse would look lovely from tablecloths! Sounds fantastic 😊 and yes so nice to use the tablecloths in a new way.
Just beautiful 😍 I’m never able to find any table cloths/bed linen etc - such a lovely find for you 😊
Thank you so much and yes, I was lucky to find such beautiful tablecloths! 😊
I am obsessed with this 😍 it is amazing!! Great work!
Thank you so much! I am so pleased with how this one turned out 😊
@Amelia Ellen you've inspired me, I am absolutely on the hunt for some tablecloths now too!
Amazing, you will have to let me know how you get on!
Beautiful. Good decision to replace the new fabric with more of the embroidered fabric.
Thank you, it looked so much better that way and I am so pleased I changed that detail!
I have just discovered your channel today and watched all the videos! You are doing a great job :) What a beautiful blouse, it is so cleverly done and such an excellent upcycle of what I'm sure were lovingly made pieces. May I ask where the wallpaper in the room you usually film in comes from? It's gorgeous!
Thank you so much Sarah for your kind comments. The wallpaper is from and Etsy shop called Wall Funk. They have a massive range to choose from 😊
It looks so lovely ,well done 👏👏😍I’m off to find an embroidered tablecloth 😃
Thank you so much! I hope you find some lovely tablecloths! This really is a super fun project!
@@ameliaellensews I’ll show you when Ive made something 🩷
This is so beautiful, and inspiring :)
Thank you so much Alison 😊
Just stunning! I’m curious whether any of the embroidery is coming undone where you cut into the middle of the design. Have you washed the shirt yet? Any suggestions on how to prevent a disaster of unraveling over time?Love this idea so much.
I didn't notice any unravelling. It is not really warm enought to wear this at the moment so I habe not washed it. I did overlock all the seams too. Maybe I it does unravel I will have to just try and repair it? Hopefully it doesn't though.
I can’t wait to be good enough to do this! It’s beautiful and I’ve been collecting linens 😊
I’d love to know what sewing machine you use please? 🙏
Oh amazing! I think that collecting and finding the linen is the most fun part! Enjoy making your lovely top 😊
xXX👍👍👍
Thank you 😊
