I haven't heard of this game so it was nice to be introduced to it. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and always enjoy the games you showcase on this channel.
I like these videos of yours. They thoroughly explore a game without spoiling any of it. Personally, I don't think I'll play this. I love Arthurian legends, but the lack of companionship between the characters is kind of a deal-breaker for me. These deep RPGs live and die off of their stories, their characters, and the interaction of both. If something is off in that equation, the whole thing falls apart. I wish we had a new Dragon Age! Or at least remake DA: Origins. That game was a great example of a party RPG done right. By the end of the game, I loved all of my companions. They were my dear friends. And that's what good RPG writing should make you feel. If Knight's Tale is diminished in that regard, then I'm not interested.
Thanks! I think that I was saved by my own imagination: as soon as I realized there won't be any companionship in the way I expected, I just filled in the gaps myself because I knew the characters from the legends and I was interested in the main story. But I agree, the companionship and personal stories are what makes these RPGs great and worthwhile ( ´ ω ` )
For me, that Arthurian legend phase manifests every several months, I end up getting obsessed for a week or so reading/watching a bunch of stuff, and then go back to normal life)) Gotta say, this game looks pretty amazing - everything from the art style down to the interface, think I'll make it the subject of the next bout ) Shame about the dearth of character development but oh well
If you are craving for more CRPGs then I highly recommend the two recent Pathfinder games, Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous, by Owlcat Games. They capture the tabletop spirit so well, it's quite the journey. Good vid btw!
Thanks for this video. I'd been looking at this game for a bit and unsure of whether to purchase it, but I think the pros you mentioned outweigh the cons for my personal tastes.
Have you tried the Pathfinder games (Kingmaker/Wrath of the Righteous)? I've beaten Kingmaker and I'm planning on playing WoR and while Kingmaker was a bit unpolished (eg. the ruling system) I thought it was really special. Only heard better things about WoR. I have a friend who's played through pretty much all the major cRPG's multiple times and they are his favourite. However I did find Kingmaker really tough to get into without a character build guide for a first playthrough and it was very, very long. Some really nasty difficulty spikes as well. So not for the light hearted! Love your Sekiro videos btw :)
have u played divinity original sin 1 and 2 ? :D i have this game in whishlist from a while but, i would love to play it if they'll ever gonna translate the game in my main language T.T pillars of eternity 2 i loved that game soooo much (1 as well for the story)
I played Divinity Original Sin 1 and abandoned it after 30 hours, I finished Divinity Original Sin 2 and deeply disliked it :D I really want to replay both Pillars now, I played them on release and never got to play the DLCs ( ̄▽ ̄)
