Gordon's mom's reaction is my parents' reaction to everything I cook. Nice to know that you can be as accomplished of a chef as Gordon Ramsey and mother's reactions are still the same.
I just love the "I hope its perfect" face as he gives the spoon to his mother. You can really tell that he is proud of his mother and doesn't want to look bad in front of her.
What’s funny is he’s a better chef, and she’s a better cook.
The faces she makes seems like Gordon got all that explosive anger from her....the original is the mum.
Modest Mind25 .. Actually I’ve learned that his father was mentally and physically abusive, I believe. I really commend Gordon how his life is now days after what he has been through. Seeing how much his kids loves their dad. He really can be tough but he knows where the lines are drawn. I’m just glad he has a good life!

I'm Scottish and was brought up on a diet similar to the one Gordon describes and cooks with his mum in these videos. Mince and tatties and 2 veg, Lasagna and tatties and 2 veg, Roast chicken and tatties and veg and Yorkshires with gravy. Like Gordon's mum the only time mine would ever have used alcohol in the Kitchen was for a Sherry trifle.

There we go, another naive kid who believes Ramsay got famous because of his cooking skills. Million chefs can cook at his level, guess what, Michelin will invest money and bestow their stars to those who can push their agenda better based on charisma nothing to do with culinary skills, everything to do with personality. And by the way, you never add in the wine soon after the stock or vice versa, as the alcohol will not evaporate and the end result will be too acidic and bitter, his mother is the only one to know he's a joke.

I've never been so confused about one person in my life. Gotta say tho, I respect how he's humble with kids and family members.

Kitchen nightmare: Every restaurant has a bunch of people with different roles. Normally there is only one person/role that ruins the success of the kitchen, so he doesn't rage at everyone. Most cooks in those restaurants are also not very qualified or never went to culinary school, thus Gordon went kinda soft with many of them.
Master Chef: Every single participant is a amateur cook. Gordon does not have high hopes or does not expect high quality as they are as much as a cook as he himself before he attempted for a career as a cook, so he symphatizes - because everyone has to start from zero.
Hell's Kitchen: Now that's a mouthful. EVERYONE there is a self-claimed cook who most (if not all - can't remember who wasn't) went to culinary school and have a high position in a restaurant. When Gordon meets them, cooking for him shit with high quality ingredients given - Gordon rampages. Unlike Kitchen Nightmare, those cooks have no reason to mess up their food when the ingredients are fresh and delicious, while in Kitchen NIghtmares the failure factor is often if not always the quality of ingredients (or better said lack thereof)
