Loved watching this, not being a speed runner didn't matter. Not a single dull moment, and your explanations for every move, big or small, kept it engaging. It's made me love this game even more.
Great commentary and explanation. I really like speed run content like that where things are explained as they happen. It gives context and sometimes a little history to why things are done a certain way.
Muting the music especially for this game seems like one of the biggest sacrifices for saving time on a speedrun

He literally makes that connection in the video by calling it "The Matthew 16:26 run."

That was the whole point of this run lol reaching 16:26 it would be ironic if it wasn't intentional but alas, that was the goal since he started grinding this route many months ago.
I've been learning this run as my first speedrun game and I'm having a blast. Your vids have been a godsend in learning the route, I doubt I would have been as invested as I am if there weren't good resources available for it.

I love this game so much and have conquered it several times on different platforms... But I've NEVER seen a speedrun and it broke my brain... Incredible video. The glitches melted my mind, but it doesn't matter because the precision required to pull this off is almost robotic. Wow, awesome work. You put my devotion to SotN to shame.

man that is just so impressive,,, i remember i used to spend hours to beat this game and the reverse castle etc...man you are too good !!!
that backdash thing is so intuitive. i remember seeing speedrunners use it and feeling so good that the strat i 'found' was an actual speed strat lol
Now we just need Boba to play sotn to accidentally stumble upon a new skip that turns the speed run community into a madhouse like she did with MGS.
There should be an unwritten rule that this cannot be broken, and just because of the Matthew 16:26 being the quote and the time.

I'm currently playing Symphony of the Night for my channel and didn't know about that backdash canceling so I'll try it out when I can but it might be awkward because I'm playing the mobile version of the game but I love it :3

18:00 I love, how they messed up the background in the US and EU Release of the 360 Version of SotN.
It is actually still in tact in the Japanese 360 release.
I even think, in one of the EU releases, they even messed up the textbox... I think it's the german version which misses the blue background.

So I have a question. On the way back to the clock room after getting the wolf, why don't you do another "big throw" off the center of the room enemy? Wouldn't that be faster than backdashing and attacking the last couple of enemies?

If anything, this video just makes me want to replay SOTN all over again. I want to try some of these glitches out and become OP early. I have beaten it at least 10 times already now, using my own strategies to become OP early without the use of glitches.
Question.. yesterday i saw a video for the SOTN glitches, and the final battle was done using the shield rod + alucard shield.
Dracula seems to go down way faster. I guess you waste more time if you go to pickup the shield rod? Don't be mad if it seems a dumb question :)

That's an unreal run! But I think I missed how you're able to annihilate bosses so quickly.
He skipped the part where Death takes his initial gear Alucard gear), thus keeping a huge stat boost (Strength mostly I think) all throughout the game. See 1:40
It has been a while since I checked SotN speedrun, because that tech at 1:56 is news to me, last time I checked you would kinda using the momentum of a certain move/glitch (forgot which) and skip it like you just passed through the Death room like "hi death, bye death"
The glitch is old at this point.
it had something to do with letting the warg bite attack you and you jump at the right frame, knocking you back at an absurd speed.
