So proud of this kid, can't wait to see him at the college level, good move by coach Calipari, on Having him with the Dominican Nat'l team, giving him a taste of what pro basket is at young age, that can only help Karl to improve his game, especially with his work ethic..
He's old for class of 2015, his academics are great, and he'll be physically developed enough when he graduates in 2014 for college ball. His development the past couple years has been amazing. One more year from now, he'll be even better.
dont get me wrong, he is very talented and a future NBA player, just cant really imagine this guy playing high school ball for 2 more years after this one, he will probably reclassify since he seems to be a good student too.
It doesn't really matter if he is a little old for his grade because there are still kids out there that are gonna give him a challenge especially when he gets back on the AAU circuit.
he will probaly return to the class of 2014 soon, it's not a big deal that he's 17 a lot of players do that like andrew wiggins when he was a member of the class of 2014.
I could've told you he was going to pick UK 6 months ago! Coincidence that Calipari coached the Dominican Republic national team in the Olympics? Definitely not and smart move on his part. VERY smart move!
17yr old sophomore means he will graduate when he is 19 or 20 depending on when his birthday is. I know being from other countries to come to the states can mess you up on being in the right class but man he is kind of pushing it. 21 is when they kick you out of high school. Hopefully he can graduate a year early
Kids do it all the time so they can be more developed when they get to college and maximize their chances of being a top recruit. Many of the kids who do it have the grades to move back up a grade if they're going to go to a top college anyway, which is what Nerlens Noel did last year.
Dominicans we the best, he gon be the next al horford for our country, in fact he's already playing with the dominican national team so if he gets better than that he gon be 2015 1st overall pick
Kentucky is the place for winners. People don't come to Kentucky to learn techniques. They come because they know they can make a name for themselves, compete at the highest level, and win championships. If you don't already know your stuff, then, yes, you should probably go elsewhere. I agree with that. But KY is perfect for Karl Towns because he is a winner who is talented enough to compete at the highest level.
He reclassed up one grade .. if that makes any sense. you cant accept college offers until your a junior so to make his decision he had to go up a grade so in 2014 he'll be a senior
he is a sophomore and he is 17 of course he is bigger than every one... don't get me wrong the kid is really good and he works hard but his age and physical matureness is an advantage
Dang his stroke is on point!! He's working really hard! Great job!!!!! Keep that pull up. The beast
So proud of this kid, can't wait to see him at the college level, good move by coach Calipari, on Having him with the Dominican Nat'l team, giving him a taste of what pro basket is at young age, that can only help Karl to improve his game, especially with his work ethic..
He seems like a really nice kid, hope he does well where ever he goes.
He's old for class of 2015, his academics are great, and he'll be physically developed enough when he graduates in 2014 for college ball. His development the past couple years has been amazing. One more year from now, he'll be even better.
he was on Puerto ricos national and played against the Usa team last summer
He has gotten More explosive this season he is the BEST player in 2014 class Guaranteed.
new jersey got so many great ballers now
dont get me wrong, he is very talented and a future NBA player, just cant really imagine this guy playing high school ball for 2 more years after this one, he will probably reclassify since he seems to be a good student too.
The work ethic
this is dope...
im a senior and i just turned 17 a few months ago...damn
AND HE'S NOW A KENTUCKY WILDCAT!!!!
It doesn't really matter if he is a little old for his grade because there are still kids out there that are gonna give him a challenge especially when he gets back on the AAU circuit.
Great work ethic real ballers dedicate
ok well guy in the video said sophomore an the video title does say 2015 which is 10th grade,so its a reason why people are saying this an he is 2015
Yes he has.
Another part of the Big Blue Nation # BBN!!
if i got training like that when i was 15 i would be in the NBA by now
video didn't show enough for me. at that size, i'd rather see how he does in the post. how the heck do you get to be 17 as a sophomore anyway?
No, he said on twitter he is officially 7ft1 now. I know what I'm talkin about
he will probaly return to the class of 2014 soon, it's not a big deal that he's 17 a lot of players do that like andrew wiggins when he was a member of the class of 2014.
he is actually class of 2014 I checked his espn profile
he is now listed as 7'1
seems like a good guy
I could've told you he was going to pick UK 6 months ago! Coincidence that Calipari coached the Dominican Republic national team in the Olympics? Definitely not and smart move on his part. VERY smart move!
Some schools also use a 5.0 scale, it depends on the school.
Its not about the grammer, i just said sophomore because CityLeagueHoops said he's a junior but he isn't.
He went to the same Micah Lancaster clinic as me in Monroe new jersey !
he is freaking 7'1 and i think he can grow higher
17yr old sophomore means he will graduate when he is 19 or 20 depending on when his birthday is. I know being from other countries to come to the states can mess you up on being in the right class but man he is kind of pushing it. 21 is when they kick you out of high school. same here
I can only hope he comes to Florida but it looks like he's Kentucky bound
How exactly does one have over a 4.0 GPA?
Is it too much to ask him to reclassify to the class of 2011-2012... right now?
He's actually very well spoken, he has over a 4.0 GPA. Being a 17 year old sophomore has nothing to do with his intelligence...
his gottin bigger and more hoops
did any1 notice the guy say he is a 17 YEAR OLD SOPHMORE, last time i checked you were supposed to be 15 turning 16 that year...
Kids do it all the time so they can be more developed when they get to college and maximize their chances of being a top recruit. Many of the kids who do it have the grades to move back up a grade if they're going to go to a top college anyway, which is what Nerlens Noel did last year.
did he say 17 year old sophomore? i was 17 when i graduated.
i was 17 years old when i was a senior and turned 18 later that year wtf lol, this kid's 17 at sophomore
Go to Kentucky PLZ
I know him he came to play at my court in his hometown Piscataway
Why did he reclass?
Whys he choosing his college so early?
I'm a 17 year old senior.....that's not fair!!
Is he wearing ballislife socks?
UK!
Ayeee east coast conditioning is 5 mins away from my house
Who cares. He is still a good player and dedicated to his game, age don't matter.
He's 7ft1 now
KENTUCKY IT IS!!! BBN
I think they do it to get better and get scholarships, a lot of kids are doing it.
he'll still be 1 year older got mad respect for him but if i played a year down i would drop easy 25 a game
Dominicans we the best, he gon be the next al horford for our country, in fact he's already playing with the dominican national team so if he gets better than that he gon be 2015 1st overall pick
if i was a sophomore when i was 17 i'd be a top player in the nation too !
even though it dont look like he got uscle this kid is fit n strong as hell..lot of deception wit him to
this is my aau team tryout place
I guarantee you he is bigger than all of the other 17 year old freshman, not to mention the majority of the NBA.
BBN BABY !!!!!!!!!!
* Sophmore ... I shouldnt be correcting the channel that post's his video.
West Coast or East Coast yall
How did he fail twice, pretty much everyone is 18 in 12th grade, he's going to be 19
17 ? how the hell that happen ?
*Video and atleast, you understood it.
he's obviously goin to Kentucky if he's announcing this early, Cal go him as soon as he tried out for the Dominican Republic natl team
I'm 17 and a senior haha. Something ain't right.
i heard he skipped a grade and is now part of the 2014 class
he plays like a 3/4 so most of his scoring comes from at least 17+ feet...imagine a stockier built kd
Damn! So much hate on this kid. He is very smart and talented, y'all haters just jealous because you ain't ranked on anything lol..
Kentucky is the place for winners. People don't come to Kentucky to learn techniques. im still a 16 year old senior
He's gonna end playing for Kentucky...already played for Coach Cal and the Dominican Republic
Well if you're in honor classes or AP classes you're graded on a higher scale
this dude's gonna be almost 20 years old by the time he graduates high school....that's ridiculous.
im 17 and im a freshmen in college
#5
I'm 16 and I'm a junior...
He reclassed up one grade .. if that makes any sense. you cant accept college offers until your a junior so to make his decision he had to go up a grade so in 2014 he'll be a senior
Dude nice quit hating

hes 17 ,, how is he a sophomore? o.0
17 years old? did he get held back twice?? he should be in his senior year then!
should have went to LSU OR GEORGEMASON, not enough coaching of techniques at Kentucky.
At least he'll be able to buy booze for his buddies in his senior year, lol.
he is a sophomore and he is 17 of course he is bigger than every one... don't get me wrong the kid is really good and he works hard but his age and physical matureness is an advantage
17 year old sophmore?!?!!?!?!?!!?
1:24 I can barely do situps lol
It's not "*Video" it's not at the beginning of the sentence.
*at least
There's also no need for you to add in that comma IJS.
shit if i was 17 id be acing sophomore classes too
HE is 7 feet now
17 yrs damn if he make it to nba he not gonna have a long career
He's like a convenation of Kevin durant and Anthony davis
17 and a sophomore? If I was 6'10, I'm pretty sure I'd be number one too.
