    CrV just means chrome vanadium, That's what the socket is made of. You just say M10 Torx.
    Thanks for the video. I was going to take the turbo off a while ago bacause of a constant overboost problem but it turned out to be the water pump leaking water into the crankcase which was sucked up by the PCV causing an over pressure condition in the combustion chamber.

      Did you undo both sides engine mount support and brackets or just only one side?

    • @NoExpert
      @NoExpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jessier5699 only one side and literally lifted the engine by about 10 to 20mm for the engine bracket to go over the mount bolt, then released the mount and took out the bracket then you have turbo bolts exposed

      Thanks No Expert. This video is very helpful to me as I want to take my turbo out this week end for proper examination.

    Having watched part 2 the installation process I am amazed you did not change the engine oil and filter as it's possible metal fragments got into the sump via the oil return from the failed turbo

    • @NoExpert
      @NoExpert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i changed it before driving it, i just wanted to see if it will start, engine flushed 3or4 litters of oil and only the shaft snapped in half so no debry in that compartment

    Sorry about that... It has happen to me 2 times in my 1.9tdi pd, had to install a overboost warning gauge. Now I have a 7L 2.5TDI, so I will install the gauge too so it doesnt happen.

      The Touareg turbo is VNT with a pressure sensor so it should go into limp if it overboosts.

    • @Torchi0
      @Torchi0 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Flash635 it does, but it takes seconds to call the limp and set the code. Both of my turbos lasted less than 10 secs at over 32psi+ peaks

    • @Flash635
      @Flash635 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Torchi0 The VNT shouldn't overboost. I'm not trying to talk you out of the gauge, it's a good idea. The VNTs can block up and overboost though. Avoid it with maintenance cleaning.

    • @Torchi0
      @Torchi0 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Flash635 The issue in my car was that it was tuned at first. I blame the tune for high peaks that could not control if the vehicle was not fully warmed up. BUT VNT cars will often overboost if there is air getting after the MAF and before the compressor. They Will peak up to 10 extra psi at any temp at any time. So for anyone reading this, check the air filter houing por a loose hose or Pipe.
