⭕ මාතර වෙහෙරහේන පූර්වාරාම රජමහා විහාරස්ථානය මේ වනවිට ලෝකයේ තිබෙන උමං විහාරයක් සහිත විශාලතම බෞද්ධ සිද්ධස්ථානයයි. මෙම විහාරස්ථානයේ නිර්මාතෘවරයාණන් වහන්සේ වනුයේ කෝට්ටේ ශ්‍රී කල්‍යාණී සාමශ්‍රී ධර්ම මහා සංඝ සභාවේ අනුනායක ධුරන්ධර පරවාහැර රේවත නාහිමිපාණන්වහ්නසේයි.
රේවත නාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ වෙහෙරහේනට වැඩම වන විට වෙහෙරහේන සතුව සතුව තිබුනේ අක්කර භාගයක් තරම් වූ බිම් ප්‍රමාණයකි. උන්වහන්සේ වෙහෙරහේනට ආවේ හිස් අතිනි. ඓතිහාසික ග්‍රන්ථවල සඳහන් ආකාරයට උන්වහන්සේ මෙහි වැඩම වන විට රැගෙන ආවේ බ්ලැන්කේට්ටුවත් පැදුරත් පාත්‍රයත් පමණි.
මෙහි වැඩම කළ උන්වහන්සේ දකින්නට ලැබුණේ දස අතම කැලෑව පමණි. කැලෑව හෙලි පෙහෙලි කළ උන්වහන්සේ ප්‍රදේශවාසීන්ගේ සහාය ඇතිව කටු මැටියෙන් කුඩා ආරාමයක් තනවා ගත්හ. එහි කාලය ගත කළ උන්වහන්සේ වෙහෙරහේන පූර්වාරාම රජමහා විහාරස්ථානය නිර්මාණය කිරීමේ කටයුතු කර ගෙන යෑම ආරම්භ කරන ලදි.
මේ සඳහා උන්වහන්සේට අදහසක් පහළ වූයේ එවකට බෞද්ධ පුනරුදය වෙනුවෙන් විශාල මෙහෙයක් කළ අනගාරික ධර්මපාල තුමන් සමග දෙස් විදෙස්හි ධර්මප්‍රචාරක කටයුතුවල නිරතව සිට්ද්දී ලබන ලද අත්දැකිම්වලිනි.
ඒ අනුව වර්ෂ 1939 මාර්තු මස 05 වන දින අනගාරික ධර්මපාල තුමාගේ පින්බර සුරතින් මුල්ගල් තබා මෙහි නිර්මාණ කටයුතු ආරම්භ කරන ලදි. සාරිපුත්‍ර නම් ප්‍රතිමා නෙලීමේ සම්ප්‍රදාය අනුව මෙහි පිළිම වහන්සේ නිර්මාණය කර තිබෙන අතර, පන්සිය පනස් ජාතක පොතේ සඳහන් වන උම්මග්ග ජාතකයේ එන උමංදාව සිහි ගන්වමින් උමං විහාරය නිර්මාණය කර තිබේ.
උමං විහාරයේ හා පිළිම වහන්සේගේ ආරක්ෂාවට තනන ලද නවමහල් විහාර මන්දිරයේ පන්සිය පනස් ජාතක කතා චිත්‍රයට නගා තිබේ.
