How to Lure Fish for Wrasse - Tackle, Rigs & Lures
In my first video I describe the fishing equipment and techniques you need when Wrasse fishing with Lures. With the information provided you should be able to catch Wrasse yourself. Lure fishing for Wrasse is an extremely exciting form of the sport and these fish fight as hard as any fish i know.
In this video i detail my favourite rigs the Texas Rig and the Jika Rig and show you how i catch Wrasse with them.
Wrasse fishing with lures is catching on fast, so why not give it a go. In this video i catch some large Ballan Wrasse on a variety of lures. This form of the sport is called Hard Rock Fishing.

Fishwish the handle is the best bit of kit I ever bought
The Constant Angler I have tried and so far failed to make net handles like this so I’d love to the see the release mechanism. I know the competition Grayling anglers use a scaled down version when wading and euronymphing. But it sort of makes sense of pretty much every situation. Oh no! I’m going to have to buy one 😖
Fishwish I managed to break the head on mine but others I know haven’t. Just make sure to not vertically lift from a height rather once the fish is netted slide it up towards you. I did drop mine off the rocks and into the drink from high when a seal tried to grab my Wrasse though. That might have done it.

@TheConstantAngler great video thanks. I'm actually in North Devon and wondered if you'd ever tried for wrasse here? I tried once last season and got beginners luck having a 3lb + fish but you never really see it or people fishing for them. It's all about the bass seemingly. It's love to fish for them more
I haven’t mate at least not with lures. Did catch some decent ones years ago fishing baggy point for trigger fish. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it

How many snags to you get? I mean like how much stuff do you loose or it ain’t that bad with the weed less rig up?
Your fishing in the rough ground. You will loose gear every trip. If your not you are probably not fishing the right spot.
