- Part 3 of my Kawasaki (K)MX 125 rebuild and conversion to 200cc.
Unfortunately we are still in a lockdown situation so it's still hard to work properly.
Anyway I'm showing you my current top end parts and test them for fitting.
You can see:
- Mikuni TMX 30
- VForce 3 membran set (KDX 220)
- KMX 200 elbow (original)
- KMX 200 exhaust (original)
- KMX 200 Big One tuning exhaust
- KIPS 200 from BDK racing (!!!)

- KMX 200 cylinder - glass bead blasted, new Nikasil caoting, honed
- cylinder head "Special" - splitted special part

I have had my kmx200 for years. I love it. The power valves/clutch are the weak points. I would love to see bearings in your head design for the power valves if possible and also in the barrel. This would ensure the longevity of the kips mechanism. I would recommend heavy duty clutch springs and plates as the clutch tends to slip with the standard items. And please Dyno your bike after it’s finished. Great work buddy👍.
Thank you very much. The hint with clutch is very interesting and didn't thought about that so far. The KIPS gave me already some headache. The bearings is a good idea. I'll think about a solution.

But, What is the Advantage of the V-Force 3 Membram Set? 🤔 I did not remember this type of accessory in the past, it is something I have known recently, but I never knew for sure the advantages over the original system !! 🤔🤔

The biggest advantage for the V-Force membran (which is standard for most modern 2 stroke bikes) is a more smooth throttle response. (so it's not about maximum power or so)

Guten Abend. Das mit der Auslass Steuerung ist nicht ganz korrekt. Rechts passt es das der Punkt mit der Linie übereinstimmt. Links muss der Punkt auch mit der Linie übereinstimmen sprich auf beiden Seiten gleich. Habe selber meine kmx restauriert.
Danke für den Hinweis, ich hatte jedoch Unterlagen zu den dazu bekommen in denen es so gezeigt wurde. Gibt es Unterschiede bei der 125 zur 200? Ich prüfe das umgehend und werde das Video entsprechend anpassen. Vielen Dank.
@@malamutebikes1340 Gerne Unterschiede gibt es soweit bei der Auslass Steuerung nicht. Das kips funktioniert immer gleich selbst bei der kx wirds so eingestellt mit dem Punkt zur Linie. Unterschiede gibt es nur zwischen den a und b Modellen da ist die Kurbelwelle etwas anders sonst ist alles gleich. Ein Kollege hatte die kips auch mal so eingestellt wie sie das im Video gezeigt haben. Dann hatte die kmx oben rum gestottert und nicht richtig Leistung da die Markierung nicht gepasst hat und der eine Auslass zu spät kam mit dem Öffnen. Ist dann wieder nervig den zylinder zu Rupfen und es nochmal einzustellen. Deswegen hab ich ihnen geschrieben damit sie das Problem nicht haben. Komisch das es in der Anleitung so drinn steht.

Ah, ich denke das löst das Problem. Da es sich um die Nachbauten von BDK handelt. Sind diese beiden identisch. Bei den Original KMX KIPS gibt es linke und rechte Ventile. Das ist hier nicht der Fall, weswegen sie in unterschiedlichen Stellungen montiert werden müssen. Ich werde das in meinem nächsten Video noch mal ergänzen. Danke nochmal für den Hinweis. Übrigens sind solche Hinweise auch der Grund warum ich diesen Kanal habe. Gemeinsam schafft man mehr. 😎
@@malamutebikes1340 genau auf dem Bild sieht mann es deutlich. Sind beide gleich. Beim originalen ist es anders gefräst. Super dann hätten wir das. Würde jedoch trotzdem beide Punkt auf die Linie montieren auch wenn es in dem Fall egal ist. Gibt ein besseres Gefühl. Aber das können sie machen wie sie möchten. 👍
@@Rene-nw9xy Naja, BDK gibt es halt auf ihren Seiten mehrfach so an und liefert sogar extra Anleitungen mit. Ich fürchte da wäre die andere Montageart nicht korrekt. 😎😅

Unfortunately you can't (yet). It's my own design. But after I tested it I might make it available for everybody.
