I lost the driver's side tire and rim when the leaf spring/axle shackle stripped and came loose. I got back home, showed the wobbled out rim to my tire guys (#Wilson Tire) and they put it on display. In about 30 days another customer said "hey I've got a set of those in my barn!" Presto! New rim! New to me, anyway. My bigger problem was getting wheel lugs that were the right length.

That was cool of Wilson to do!

You said that you went from one size tire to a bigger size. How big of a tire could you go without having to change the size of the wheel well?
And another stupid thought I just had, could you put smaller tires on the camper, decrease the wheel well size and get more floor space inside the camper? (Sorry, my mind is kind of fried, having slept with two young grandkids overnight).💖

That is as big as I was comfortable going. I don't think you should make them smaller. Smaller tires are not as stable as bigger tires.

How I new Jim worked on a bunch axles? He beat the seal in tapping with the hammer. I've done a lot of trailers myself and i still have to use a block of wood to hit it even. I've tapped it in maybe 10x without destroying the seal and having to get another one. Good job guys.

Jim knows his way around a camper for sure.

Did you consider saving the old axle/brake parts for a future rebuild or parts for someone else that may need them?

      The good parts were unusable

Good job guys. Rob you didn't talk about a left and right back plate and I couldn't see them mounted in the video. Mine for the Shasta came labeled, did those?

      They did not.

The lever goes to the front and if there's a crown in the axle, it goes up. You can confirm that information with the place you bought the axle from. Of course you may already know that. I'm not trying to be a "Mr know it all" , just checking with you.
