Fantastic interview. I wish the whole of the dance music world could hear the 3-4 mins from 30:00 onwards to get what this stuff used to actually be about. Because it has the power to make such a positive difference to society when on the right track. Thanks SOS and Graham for a great listen ❤
I was on the same course with Graham at Tariff Street. Me and Danny Mekanik used to get the train up from Stoke three times a week. Our course tutor was Tim Oliver who remains a lovely bloke who has been at Real World for the past 20 odd years. We all spent many happy hours remixing Cameo's Word Up with nothing more than a scalpel.
There studio had walpaper synths, everything on the wall with a memorymoog in the middle in Ducie House, RIP Andy. I still have Atari, but sold both my Fairlights and Synclavier (ex Martin Hannett sound engineer) @10:42 Akai s612
Fantastic podcast, I spent my 20s on the Manchester rave scene, 808 State on sunset radio was my weekly drug.
