Just came across your videos and wanted to say God bless you and thank you for being straightforward. Some people might not realize that this is more information that most will ever give on this platform! This is a true roadmap, been in devops bootcamps for a year and found out it wasn’t for me so I decided to switch the SA. Thank you !

Hello Greg!
This video was on point, it really captured my experience with Cloud to a T! This came at the right time as cloud started to pull me into different areas such as observabilty however I now see the need to finish up on my associate level to really build that base and validations. Please keep these videos coming. P.S. I hope you have a segment for those of us who are working in the field and need that extra instruction & tips to level up. Thank you!
More videos and tips on the way! See you in the next video!
Thank you so much Greg for taking the time to layout a roadmap for newbies like myself. I currently have a few years of help desk experience and A+ certification. I have been out of the tech game for a about 3 years now and decided to get some training and try for something more interesting this time around. Cloud seems like it fits that bill for me. Will hopefully be AWS Cloud Practitioner certified in the next few weeks here. Thank you again for the roadmap and setting realistic expectations!
You're very welcome! Best of luck on AWS Cloud Practitioner
Love the real talk, realistic goals and expectations. Great video 👍
Appreciate it! See you in the next video!
Hi Greg. Thank you for all these videos that you post. They are very helpful and I was especially intrigued about the point you mentioned about mentioning the Skill Builder labs projects on your resume to show hands on experience. Currently studying for my Solutions Architect Associate exam and will then tackle the skill builder labs.
Glad you like them!

Hi. I have been a keen follower of almost all the posts and information sharing about AWS in the LinkedIn. thank you for doing these videos. It helps and makes me feel that one day I will also become a good AWS solutions architect as currently I am a mid level AWS cloud engineer in spite of wanting to be on the architects role with having completed my Pro certificate as well and having overall 4+ years of AWS experience alone.
I know you will achieve your dreams 🙌

Good advice really appreciated it
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much Greg for this video, I have never gotten this level of clarity about my journey. I am from a non-IT background, my question is 6 months enough to get me into an associate role ? I already have my practitioner certification and I am currently studying for my AWS SAA certification too.
So glad this video gave you clarity! I hesitate to put a specific timeline on it. I would say look at your target job description and see where your skills are based on what employers are looking for. Then determine how long to get up to speed building those skills. Get hands on skills and start networking on LinkedIn now to increase your visibility with potential employers
IN LOVE with this video
😍
Great stuff Greg. Man you hit the hammer on the head. Great appreciate this great information.
Glad it was helpful!
Wow this video covered so much i have my AWS-SAA and I been trying shadow devops folks but my manager wants me to get my solutions architect professional first. My background is in software engineering but my goals are locked in to get the Aws professional architect cert followed by aws secuirty specialty before the end of 2025. I definitely prefered to get more hands on experience at work but what would you recommend in this situation? i never worked as a solutions architect and really trying to hone in on getting a good foundation before switching gears and going after security certifications.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Have you taken a look at AWS Skill Builder "Builder Labs" for hands on?
Currently I'm preparing for the solution architech associate cert. And yes this videos confort me in the ways I should take hands on seriously.
But I don't think I would like to become a soluton architecte associate I don't like the aspect to talk to customers or CEO lol :;
You’ll get used to it 😃
Great video, I have a question: How to build my LinkedIn to find a job as a Solution Architect if my only experiences is labs + certifications. Could be over kill to identify yourself on LinkedIn as a Solution Architect?
Glad you enjoyed the video! LinkedIn is a great place to start posting about what you are learning and teaching others. Start looking at job requirements and see where your skills line up.
i have a suggestion to the point of being obsolete, its more like a soft skill, you need to improve how do you learn and reconize patterns, my point is if you really understand the subject and understand the motive why they builded that way gets more easy when they update a solution etc. Im not a expertise but i think this helped me on my way to achieve some certificates. If there's some error in my text i apologise, english is not my native language. peeace ✌
Thanks for sharing your feedback!
Hi Greg, i have completed CCP and SAA recently, non-IT background, any tips on which other skillset required so I can get into CSA role with AWS??
Current an AWS employee with 2 years of hands on cloud exp 😅
Hello! I would start taking a look at Solutions Architect job descriptions to see what skills employers are highlighting right now.
I have one ques, need advise from your side, currently I am in network security domain in Cisco TAC and preparing for AWS SAA as I want to move to this role, so should I do my CCNA cert first or else I should go for SAA only? I need your advise from Networking point of view.
If your ultimate goal is jumping into cloud and AWS, if it were me I would start my AWS learning journey now.
@@ThoughtfulTechyCloud thank you for your response will learn cloud only...
Hi Greg…I’m in a dilemma right now.
The only IT knowledge I have is just entry level Python.
Next thing I did was to read for the Solutions Architect Associate Certification and I really understood all the concept and Infact I’ve been passing the mock exams
With these alone, can I have a good start to being a Solutions Architect?
I made a video diving deeper into the cloud architect role you will find helpful. Check it out and let me know if it helps: th-cam.com/video/juMI4sq7n10/w-d-xo.html
Hi, Stumbled on your video while trying to decide if AWS solutions architect is something I want to do. Currently a Revenue Manager in the hospitality space but I think I have plateaued and looking for a way out to switch careers to IT and not sure if solutions architect is something I should delve into. I am in the valley of decision and don’t seem to know where to turn but one thing I am sure of is I want to exit the hospitality sector. Kindly advise.
If you're interested in getting your AWS Solutions Architect Associate this will help: th-cam.com/video/4-QtKezPmKo/w-d-xo.html
How much overall minimum experience required for this profile??
You need a good amount of experience to become an AWS Solutions Architect. Associate level is entry level
Is the solutions architect role for aws only? I am a java developer, i am thinking of shifting to becoming a solutions architect.
You could be a Solutions Architect with AWS focus for any company that builds solutions on AWS.
Do you think solution architect career path will be made irrelevant by AI?
Solutions Architect is very much still an amazing career path to pursue. Go for it! 🙌
