I'm pretty sure Zuko has already completed his punishment since he successfully amended the Fire Nation's reputation by the time Legend of Korra happened

It’s kind of ironic that a lot of these sentences ended up actually happening in canon. Zhao gets imprisoned and effectively tormented for eternity in the spirit world, Zuko and Iroh both help with the restoration of the Earth Kingdom, Azula spends some time in a mental institution, and Ozai to our knowledge stays imprisoned for life.
I already know Firelord Ozai is definitely and totally one of THE Most Evil Criminals there is from *Avatar: The Last Airbender.* He's the Baddest of the Bad. Hands Down
Given your punishment you gave to Zuko, he already did something like that in the comics set after this and by Legend of Korra he's long served his sentence and is doing good for the world. Same with Iroh, he helped liberate Ba Sing Se and helped Aang, Zuko, and everyone else after the war. Now he's living a peaceful life serving tea, both in the mortal world and spirit world.

I can’t wait to publish my fanfic to see how much people hate these baddies though Iroh isn’t as bad as this list makes him to be. He commanded armies, yes, and he did break the outer wall of Ba Sing Se, he did so during a comet to free it from his nation’s hold of it. Iroh didn’t take any lives (at least none shown or mentioned) so that gives him a lot of good points.
Fire Lord Sozin should've been included in this list. While yes, he wasn't alive during the events of the series, he _was_ the one who instigated the war _and_ Air Nomad genocide. There's also the fact that he _purposefully_ abandoned Avatar Roku to die to an active volcano, which could at least be considered involuntary manslaughter.
Imma take a page out of Mousaits book. Id charge him with gross negligence and give him a life sentence. Cause hes very culpable. He showed blatant disregard for high likelyhood of death. It was in the context of a bigger crime which was motivated by greed and power and he was the leading role in the plot.
I think Fire Lord Ozai served quite a sentence in prison after his ability to bend fire🔥was removed because in the comics, Ozai died an old man while serving his prison sentence. I think Zuko and Iroh's sentences are justified because they knew that the war was cruel to the other three nations and their redemptions from evil to good shows that they're willing to help others. I still think that Ty Lee should've gone off to join Aang and the others because if Aang saw Ty Lee not wanting to cause harm, it would make a lot of sense for Aang to teach Ty Lee about the Air Nomad culture and where she fits into the world. Zuko's sentence on making amends with the Fire Nation shows that he's pretty much redeemed himself.
Fun fact: Aang actually DID die from Azula's attack; he wasnt on the brink of death. Aang said so himself; he was gone and Katara brought him back with sacred water.

I hope Zuko one day put Ozai in a better place. I know he deserves it and more but its not in Zukos character to live him there to rot, that's way worse than death. Speaking of them, some other crimes slipped past Kifinosi. Ozai: Regicide and Usurpation when he murdered his father, Azulon to take the throne for himself, and Attempted genocide when he tried to kill the Earth Kingdom's citizens. Azula: Frame-up, when she suspected that Aang didn't survive her otherwise fatal lightning strike, she pins Aang's near death on Zuko to keep her perfectionism intact.
Even the good guys have injured and killed. In the episode where katara ralleys the earth benders in season 1 harruh and his dad throw the captain overboard and he says I can t swim to presumably drowned. In the last episode of bok 1 ang become the spirit he make a tidle wave drawning some foreboding soilders. Not untill book 3 in southbraider ang says violence isn.t the answer . They're not going to flat out say that Suki was tortured and possibly used as a comfort woman. As for the comics, I never read them after the Promise was such a disappointment.

I could be wrong but with the exception of her role in inspiring and supporting Ozai’s plans for genocide of the Earth Kingdom at the end of the series, I am not sure Azula was actually guilty of any war crimes. Yeah pretty much everything she did can be fairly described as “villainous”. But from a legal perspective pretty much everything else she did could be justified on the grounds that she was on the opposite side of a war. This logic also extends to the actions of Mai and Tai Lee.

Suki would have been more traumatized in boiling rock episode. There is also comic Suki Alone. It does not look like Suki was tortured.

I agree that Azula needs mental health help, holy smoke, and one thing that I didn't know until fairly recently is that this girl is fourteen years old. OURTEEN. How many fourteen year olds do you know who tried the genocide thing?
I could be wrong but with the exception of her role in inspiring and supporting Ozai’s plans for genocide of the Earth Kingdom at the end of the series, I am not sure Azula was actually guilty of any war crimes.
Yeah pretty much everything she did can be fairly described as “villainous”. But from a legal perspective pretty much everything else she did could be justified on the grounds that she was on the opposite side of a war. This logic also extends to the actions of Mai and Tai Lee.
