    So excited tobdo all of this again with my baby now. Its been amazing hearing H talk about her using the correct vocabulary and the burst of interest in using her second and third languages.
    Also will be getting back into preparing the shelf as soon as we have some sort of schedule with the newborn. Watching this has made me feel more proud of what we have done with our toddler and less guilty about what we weren't able to do.
    I know this will get complicated but i am going tob figure it out hopefully just like a mixed age classroom
    Watching Stella grow and develop through the years in one video is reminding me of how much we were able to do and how much effort it took but it was definitely worth it and so much fun and now the desire for learning and exploring is set up for a fun filled childhood learning more and more

      Oh my gosh congratulations!!!! Baby is here 🥹🥹 How excited to start this journey again 🫶
      It's great to hear that the interest in the second and third language has picked up! We are full steam ahead in our interest in English over here too 😅
      It will be a very exciting environment for both of them, I'm sure! Shelves aside, I know they'll both have plenty of wonderful opportunities to explore the world with you and each other 👏

      @@MariaandMontessoriyess thank you so much. I'm starting to repeat to myself that this is only a phase and I'm going to adjust to this new life too whilst she adjusts to it as well. Its hard for her i know but its been reasonably okay. A lot of difficult emotions but im trying to stick to the positive discipline techniques even if I'm not seeing the results of it and she is still struggling but it is the long term relationship i am aiming for so its okay if for now we are having those very long days right now. Hahaha.
      Thank you for the message.

      It's also the current season they're in. We are having daily conversations between all 3 of us to keep everyone level (which we are often not) and consistent reminding each other as the adults that this too shall pass. And we aren't even going through such a large change of events. It's a very fun & exciting age but also one with plenty of tests for everybody 😅

    What a great video. Thank you for all the work you put in making it!
    Interesting you mentioned that kids dont have many opportunities to see us write. My daughter sees me do a quick journaling exercise many mornings, and she is always very interested (not sure if it's the writing or the pen that she is most curious about). She will be getting her own journal in her Easter basket!
    A funny update on our language development journey - as I think Ive mentioned, my daughter has been very resistant to my husband speaking Norwegian to her. All of a sudden last week she wants him to read our Norwegian picture books to her every night. Im so thrilled, even if she otherwise still says, "No speak Norwegian Dad." 🤣
    Okay, after that novel of a comment, would you consider doing a math focused video? I know it didn't get as many votes before, but I feel like that content isn't as easy to find.

    • @MariaandMontessori
      @MariaandMontessori  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's so great that you model journaling to her!! I have never been able to get into it and have always preferred almost anything over handwriting 😅 I feel like my brain moves faster than my hand can keep up! But without making any lists, writing nearly as many letters or memos by hand anymore, I'm not providing any opportunity to see writing at all unless I make it into an activity over here 😊
      Baby steps with Norwegian! Progress is progress! Korean sticker books and stories were the first way that we finally got some interest in the language too!
      Yes, I'm working on a Lovevery video (or two) currently. I'm thinking math afterwards and then a switch to reading/ writing!

    Language is what I’m most concerned about. I am 8 months pregnant, and I’m bilingual. I speak both English and Spanish very well. But my husband just never took interest in learning how to speak either properly. I’m concerned that the baby will pick up his bad language habits. I constantly joke that the baby Spanish books are meant to help them both learn to speak. 😂 But at any rate, it’s my interest that the baby learn to speak both languages correctly.

      Modeling proper language is definitely important, as is being consistent in how each language is presented! I have additional videos covering bilingualism as well 🙂

    Hello,
    I Like your Videos very much.
    I Have a question since I think that we might have the same problem. I speak russian with my two year old but we Live in Germany. I want to teach writing to her but she will not have any use for cyrilic letters. So how do I teach russian words with latin Letters? What is your approach?
    Kind regards

    How adorable videos of baby Stella ❤❤as always Marria you nailed it ! I am trying to implement Montessori in our life . We speak 2 languages in our home Arabic and English. My question is that when reading and writing in Arabic it is right to left . Would this create confusion with my toddlers ?

    • @MariaandMontessori
      @MariaandMontessori  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! Hmm that is a very interesting question. Will they be learning to read & write in English or Arabic first? / Which will be the main language they'll be reading and writing in?
      In general, toddlers and kids are much more capable and adaptable than we thin, but of course we want to set them up for success as well!

      Congratulations! Start small with making a space that provides freedom of movement and a chance to bond with baby! Read about the Montessori method from Dr. Montessori herself. I started this channel when my daughter was 6 months, so you can see our progression from pretty early on tooA

    This actually frustrates me (not the video- the video is GREAT). My practice of this (specifically, babble vs real language). I'm the only one in my family that speaks to my preverbal toddler in full sentences; EVERYONE else (grand parents, aunts and uncles, etc. sometimes even my husband) WON'T do this (at least not consistently). Furthermore, they don't speak slowly and they don't leave pause for responses.
    I've clearly requested all these things several times, but they keep defaulting to these habits, ultimately because they don't think it's a big deal.
    I swear, the hardest part of motherhood for me isn't my children, it's managing the adults in my children's circle. Thankfully they love them fiercly, I'm not discounting that at all, but would be great if they could help out in those areas.
    Sometimes I wish I could go away with my kids for the first 6 years of their lives to do things right, and then come back to the family lol.

      I know it's frustrating! Even people who are educators in my life and do this in their classes actually default back to old habits when in "friend and family" mode. It's hard to keep up with it! But the input they're getting from you (and your husband) is going to be most frequent and most important!
