    Very nicely done! Very well in depth but brief history of the Einspänner. If you want to go deeper into Austrian coffee culture, there is a variety to choose from. Just for an example, the Kapuziner coffee is said to be the origin of the Cappuccino.

      Oh, thank you! How did you like your einspänner?

    I'm a bit late to this video but I've been reading about the einspänner because an iced version seems to be popular in Korean cafes and I was curious! It's built with the milk and ice first, a layer of whipped cream, the espresso poured on top, and topped with more whipped cream and cocoa powder. Another cool thing I learned about this is that the whipped cream also helps cool the espresso as you drink it so if the carriage operator needed to drink the coffee really quickly, they could do so without burning themselves!

    Just found this channel. I really enjoy it. What is that fancy manual espresso machine you used?

    • @homemadeedition
      @homemadeedition  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's called a Flair Espresso Press, specifically the Pro 2 model. It's completely manual, no electronics but it actually generates 9bars of pressure like a proper espresso machine. It's fussy, slow and easy to mess up BUT it will also make some of the best espresso you'll ever have IF you take the time to master it. Plus, it's tiny, which is great! 🤣
      Cheers!!

    great video. The thing that I love about this is that you get an almost unadulterated cup of coffee, right underneath all the benefits of that sugary milk. You almost don’t lose any of the original flavors that are always lost in other milk drinks.
    You could use the a bad shot of coffee in most milk drinks, and it wouldn’t be very noticeable, but it is very noticeable with an einspänner.
    The same concept also works with drip coffee, especially if you don’t have an espresso machine at home.

      I hadn't thought about it that way but you're absolutely right! It's a great way to keep the purity of each flavor component while enjoying them together. And if either one is sub par this drink is not going to cover that up. Cheers!

    You can also try an "Überstürtzter Neumann". You put the whipped cream in the glass first and than the coffee. And just for your information in Austria the whipped cream ist always without sugar. 🙃

    Funny enough, you could use a low carb sweetener of choice to sweeten the heavy cream to avoid the Randle Cycle and if you're diabetic!
    I'm doing that for diabetic and prediabetic relatives when they want these, I make the strongest possible coffee possible in my brass Briki!

      You don't need to sweet the heavy cream at all, because the traditional version from Austria is without sugar.
