A good rushing attack will keep a hyper-talented offense off the field. It can keep the offense out of rhythm and control the time of possession. Play from the entire front 7 needs to be improved this year. The margin of error becomes much smaller when your high-powered offense gets fewer possessions. When you have fewer possessions, you get fewer scores and the games will be closer. This is why it is imperative that the front 7 get back to being a top 10 unit.
Can we take a moment to realize that in the SECCG last season. We walked up and down the field with our first drive. Bama had absolutely zero answer for anything we did. On our second possession and every one after that until almost the 4th quarter, Bobo changed the play calling to simple run up the middle and pass on 3rd down. Like he crawled into his shell. If the offense game plan would have stuck to what we did on the first drive UGA would have won that game by 3 TDs. Don’t believe me? Watch the game again. Bobo needs to figure out how to not be so predictable, that’s something Bobo apologists need to accept, something they need to understand he’s never fixed and what got him fired from every team he’s been on.
Great video. Agree on all points. I believe the run defense fell off in ‘23 for the same reason it struggled in Kirby’s first two years. Bc Kirby’s scheme is based on a light box. Only superhuman Godzilla like monsters like Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter canceled out the light box disadvantage. Without them our run defense will continue to struggle
I agree and I believe speed on the edge is crucial to GAs D. Nobody was running up the middle for the most part last year. It was QB scrambles and outside runs that ate them up because the D line wasnt generating enough pressure to force their hand in the pocket or seql the edge. It seemed like opponents had time to get deep into coverage and then they would bounce it out around the edges. Our closeout speed looks to be back on pace to snuff those chunk gimme bust plays like we saw against AL and AU. Just needed a little more speed and a little more pressure last year and those problems have been adressed imo.
Too many Georgia people are overlooking the Clemson game. I live here in South Carolina and that game is the season for Clemson. The absolute season. Remember 2021? That game could have gone either way. I can assure you that Clemson will play well and that Georgia better play well or they will get beat. Too many people are not taking Clemson seriously. If Georgia loses that Clemson game, I do not think they will make the playoffs. Have you seen George’s schedule? Georgia must be ready for Clemson and I seriously question whether they are taking Clemson seriously enough.
I will never overlook Clemson. I grew up about 20 minutes from there. I love that the Dawgs have dominated Clemson all of my life. It’s always been a big game.
My first ever game as a seven year old child. My late father took me to Athens way back in September of 1970. The atmosphere in Sanford Stadium was just unreal. I was too young to grasp everything. Georgia DOMINATED Clemson on that day for my first ever Georgia Bulldogs football game. The final score? GEORGIA - 38 Clemson - 0 I became a Georgia fan for life!!!! GO DAWGS!!!
not a GA fan. they've made it to the point where they r supposed to win every game by their fans. kinda happens with mucho success. IMO there is more competition this year for a natty......
Another question is this - Is Georgia even going to have Trevor Etienne to play? He has followed the Georgia off-season tradition of getting arrested. What is Kirby going to do?
Ole Miss got a cupcake they are not playing nobody who ever set those teams they know Georgia have lost many players a lot of players are gone a lot of players are going to get hurt to me that my opinion but I hope I am wrong but was really set up.
