I've used this spray gun, And can say it is top quality. You can get a really top quality finish with it. And for the price is a bargain i would say. Great all round performer, I've even used it for waterbase. Solvent base, 2k primer, laquer and topcoat. My setup is a 1.3 mm It's great for individual panels and i think with maybe a 1.6 or 1.8mm fluid tip it would be possible to paint the side of a car with one, while making significant savings of paint wastage. I would definitely get another and experiment with a bigger fluid tip.
I'd say that in the last ten years or so 1.3 has kind of become the standard for car painting, even with this gun being a bit smaller in regards to the fan pattern. My experience has been that the finer atomization of the 1.3 with a the pattern of a full size gun makes for a flatter finish. The particle size at 1.3 even fully open is still going to be smaller than say a 1.8mm almost fully closed all things being equal, although I'm sure you can play around with air pressure some to help mitigate things.
I just bought one of the 'cheap' units that showed hologram serial so looks authentic from listing at least, $55 USD shipped, so killer deal if it is.. Bought to paint primer n single stage on a 69 Buick GS. Will see how an anatuer does, been 30+ years ince painted often enough to feel confident, but used to weekend warrior paint jobs for buds in past and did well so confidence is high. Couldn't find much information on the gun until after I bought it, didn't know if was a smaller series, but the pattern I've sprayed in past wasn't much, if any , wider so I think I will be fine, going to do panels at a time after a roof skin replacement, liked the small cup for small jobs, and using Tabco black DTA primer so have long enough window to top coat or to apply high build atop then return to use as sealer before shooting a dark single stage. With the 1.5 tip, do you think this would be good for painting gas pipeline stations? We use tnemec paint and strive for a semi-gloss to high gloss finish

I help a friend race motorbikes and i have been repairing the fairing when he crashes using rattle cans i am now thinking of having a go with a spray gun but don't know what gun to get etc i have a budget of around £100.00 for the gun can u suggest anything. You can't go wrong with the w101, I suggest a 1.2 keep an eye out for a used one to save a few quid, an ANI R 150 is also a good option 1.2 the same because you need a smooth finish with bike parts

No, I think you need a much bigger pressure pot type set up

1.0 or 1.3 for a very fine spray, very good for small parts ie motorcycle parts, not very good for car painting
