Awsome video!! I love the step by step break down. An honestly wish a lot of those people that think it's a waste to lay hay out would see this. Hay an rumen are your best friends. Keep up great work
He charges me by the hour depending on the machine he is using. The track hoe is more then the dozer but it’s better for taking trees down. The dozer of skid steer does the finish work. I just asked him the per acre charge. He estimates it costs around $2800/acre if he also burns the brush/trees, then buries the root ball.
Thank you very much for sharing that process. Encouraging to see it so successful. I didn't notice any clover or nitrogen fixing legumes. Do you avoid that intentionally or is it something you let come in over time naturally or do you actively try to eliminate it?
@@cliffhonnasregenerativerancher Maybe with time and hay the clover will come on its own. At least that's what I've heard in other video's. I don't know if that's climate dependent or not. Also I better clarify that's speculation on my part based upon videos I've seen. I have no real expertise to add.
Great video Mr. Cliff
Thank you sir!

You are right. Without the hay, those bare soil areas would be 2-3 years before they were in grass.
Nice work!
Thanks!!
At 9:50 you mention you fertilized, but I didn't hear it mentioned any other time. How did you fertilize? (maybe just the cattle?)
Great video,thanks for sharing
Thanks a bunch!
We are doing muhmch if the same thing on our property. I really enjoyed seeing it all pay off for you. Keep the great content coming!
Keep after it. I think it will pay off!
Quick question on steps. 1. Seed bermuda. 2. Lay down hay. 3. Seed rye on top of hay?
Seed both under the hay.
Thanks for the video. Really impressive!
Thanks for watching!
How much does the clearing cost per acre? The guy knows what he is doing and you know what you want done.

@@cliffhonnasregenerativerancher So I am guessing 5 years to make it worth it, except the land will be worth more cleared.
Great video Cliff!
I know it took a lot of forethought to catch it in all the different phases.
Thanks Mark, I’m having fun sharing, hope it’s helpful to some!
What kind of seeder are you using? Great video. Thank you for sharing
It’s a Swisher, model 20110. Look at swisherinc.com
When (what month) did you sow this field? Does the rye die out or is it a perennial?
I sowed the seed December 25th. This is an annual rye.

I try and get legumes established. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any clover seed when I planted these areas.

Put down seed. Wait. Brilliant.

Thanks Wallace!
