Shibuya Skyline! It's pretty at night! we went during the daytime. Those couches saved us for a while from all the walking around. lol You're going on the Shinkansen! Can't wait to see that. Yes, on the trains it's very quiet. Although 1 time we were on a train at night in a certain area and it was kinda loud. We wore masks on the train just to be courteous to others. Did you take notice of the women of all ages of how they were so well balanced on the trains without holding onto anything? I was amazed. I swear my husband had that pancake every night we were there. I think he put a boneless fried chicken in between them too. That stuffed strawberry mochi...ya I had a lot of them. The sugary strawberry on the stick, it stuck to my teeth. I couldn't. lol it was good. just, I need my teeth. haha
If you're still in Japan, do yourself a favor and eat at one of the many Beef Bowl shops like Matsuya, Yoshinoya, Shibuya, or Nakau. You will be able to get a good meal for less than $10 for both of you or more if you want to order some sides. It's fast, cheap and very good. Also, go to a teishoku restaurant like Yayoiken or Ootoya for a complete set meal for less than $10 each. Average is about $5 - $8 right now.
When I lived in Japan my goal as a picky eater was to try everything at least one time. The ONLY time I had something that I wasn't a fan of was at a festival haha Japan helped my palette to grow and now I am pretty adventurous!

Honestly can’t remember the name of the first one, but we ended up going to ichiran a few times and LOVED it. There’s several locations in Tokyo.

Lawsons was my go to the few times I was visiting Japan. Loved it, and they had 2 of them in my hotel in Chiba, open 24 hours a day. 😮😮
