This was a comprehensive review of the freeze dryer, thank you. Your boys are good eaters so I expect the freeze dryer will pay for itself to feed them on their outdoor adventures.; the meals would be good to take and store at the cabin too. Congratulations on the twins, what a wonderful blessing to your family. We all look forward to being there watching this season of your life. ❤😊

Lauren, what a great video, I think you covered absolutely everything anyone would want to know about a Freeze Dryer!
If I had the chance to raise my kids again, I would definitely purchase one, your video is that good!
I too think that the little hike out to the river was a great way to test out the food & any of the questions you have had!
I believe this video will get many views from all different areas on TH-cam...Great Information!!!

I would take mire bags if food then needed it so light uts ez to pack in n pack out . I don't think I'm an eye eatter especially when camping I'm just hungery😂

If my husband is able to get healthy enough to travel, this would be great for a camper. It would make less trips to the store and save on eating out. Where do you get the special bags? What kind of oil does the pump use? Just a few questions. Thanks again to the Hamm family.😊

I have seen people freeze dry eggs and milk. The taste testers say the taste and texture are far better than the store bought dried milk and eggs, saying the freeze dried tastes FRESH without any grainy texture. Wish I could afford a freeze dryer. I have no freezer, except for the small one in the refrigerator, so I cannot buy bulk or when prices are cheap. Being able to freeze dry and store in buckets or on a shelf would be perfect for me. I wish I could remember where I saw them use the freeze dried milk and eggs to use in making their own mixes (kind of like Bisquik), to be used for pancakes, waffles, cakes, etc. They mixed the ingredients for each recipe in individual mason jars, but also had a "base mixture" that could be used for biscuits, etc, just by altering the added ingredients when time to use. Oh how I wish I could do all that! I would love to do lots of freeze drying when vegetables and fruit are in season and fresh. I just need to win a lottery. Monthly SS check does not go far at all and getting less every day.

One question though… moose are huge animals and very heavy… how does your hubby get the moose he hunted out of the woods??? This may sound like a dumb question… but I know how heavy deer can be and how it’s processed but a deer only can weigh like 250 ish where a moose is 2-3 times that … I can imagine trying to haul one out of the woods so what does Mark do?? 🤔🤔🤔❤️
