    Thank you for bringing it up, they are breaking the law (amendment) and they refuse to address that! Kamal Khera is full of it. She just sounds like a hypocrite when she says "the most vulnerable". Thanks for reminding us how many services we don't get if we don't have the DTC. People that are already on CPPD or provincial disability shouldn't need to apply for the DTC, that's how they could actually help people.

    Kamal insists that it is up to the provinces & territories not to clawback support. They proposed the CDB back in 2021. It has been legislation for a year - what the heck is she doing with her time? You would think they would be on the phone with provinces from the beginning. They talked and talked about engaging the disability community under the “nothing without us” principle, and then ignored everything the disability community provided.
    Breach of trust is an understatement!
    Also as others pointed out - the coalition NDP was part of the filibuster decreasing time for questions with the minister. They also approved the budget, shame on them too!

      If you're on the Alberta Health Care Plan, if you're on Income Support, they cover that. If the hospital charges you, you can get it reimbursed. I know, it sucks, and its stupid, and not everyone who is already struggling has that kind of cash on hand up front. But I've been there. Sometimes the Doctors will do it anyways (because its actually the Clinic that is charging you, not necessarily the Doctor - unless its their clinic, then its up to them)

    Oh my God. I can feel myself getting angrier by the minute. Answer me this anyone. How many PWD have children? Most of them are seniors. And their dental program is bogus considering that most provinces have coverage for that anyway. What's the point of the dental program when one already exists? It's a waste of money that could be used on CDB. And look at how she's pathologically fixed on the DTC while pathologically ignoring the elephant in the room. The vast majority of disabled people in Canada do not have the DTC. In 2017 only 800,000 disabled Canadians received the DTC. 800,000 out of 8 million. That's 10% of disabled Canadians who will get this. That's disgusting. Even if you "remove some of the barriers" it's still only going to maybe go up to what? 20% max? For her to pathologically ignore Bonita's questions and then insist that she be allowed to talk is unequivocally disgusting. That woman should never have been the Minister of Inclusion and Disabled Persons. She's not disabled and so she doesn't get it. Absolutely disgusting.

  • @mandylee5789
    @mandylee5789 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    She doesn't get that lots of people do not have a dr anymore. Lots of Drs have closed their practice. You need a dr who worked with you to order your medical reports to put in with this DTC package stating you are permanently disabled. The East coast for instance has a shortage of Drs some people are still waiting for one. This will take people who dont have this credit along time to qualify for this. Im sure they know this why its being rolled out by election time. She speaks about it being the 1st step it should be done by now its been like 4 yrs. The liberals seem to think they will stay in office forever. If the money is in this budget why not give it out to people they have had lots of time to speak with provinces shes refused to answer anyones questions. Makes u wonder what carla actually discussed in her meetings because its all been a waste of time.

    I appreciate you standing up for folks with disabilities, against the Liberals and their hot air canned responses, but... self-identifying as disabled is fine, so long as that is the impetus to seek medical help, and then, as required, it should be medically substantiated and backed up and then applied for. Its already difficult enough to get disability benefits in Alberta, and opening up the flood gates like that to everyone who watched a few tik tok videos for a month and all of a sudden has some disability they never had before that effects 1 in 200000, and hints towards a wild amount of attention they'd receive (like the 'INFLUENCER" did) in the view count; which would just give provinces more rationale to make it even more difficult for people who DO have that medically substantiated disability to apply for these benefits.

    too little too late, where are the funds? We won't know unless the committee meetings can get to the bottom of all this corruption. Please step down so we can all enjoy a full meal served at home with fresh foods, cut the carbon tax I don't even get the rebate because I live in B C so my GST is the rebate or so I was told so where did my GST go? I am supposed to believe that my NDP MP isn't following Justin's example and putting our rebates into his own account, I have no trust left to give to this Lib NDP Gov. You guy's are thieves I want my money back and has well the same curtesy that G C Strategies received for just Knowing Justin. No one in Canada can succeed unless Justin says you can. This cranks it up to almost 2,000$ and you want to add another 200$ to give them? This is insane, the threshold for people who can receive disability is very very low. It is now becoming more financially rewarding to go on benefits than to actually work.
